Hi Lisa, Clive & Malcolm,
I've been sent details on this new event, and wondered if it would be of interest to you and the members?
Club stands are available (register by 31st Jan for reduced entry and free Meguiar's kit!) Cars should be 2004, or older.

Please let me know if the link doesn't work, and I can share via WhatsApp.
Best wishes,
Lynne
EDIT: Thanks Lynne. The MRC have decided we will attend and, to create a better spectacle for the visitors, we are joining the Dutch contingent on their Club Stand! Scroll down a few posts for details of how to book. Apologies we missed the deadline for the free Meguiars kit, but there is still "Early Bird" pricing and a free Show Guide (RRP £9.99) on offer at the moment.
Thanks for posting this Lynne. I'll discuss with Clive and Lisa :icon_thumleft:
Hello all!
From the Netherlands we are planning to come over with old Mazda's . We will have a clubstand as well. The name of the club is hadimazda.nl (http://hadimazda.nl) We also have a club code if you want to participate on this goodwood event. There will be also some owners from RX-7club.nl
Thanks,
Kees
That's great to hear Kees. Thank you for that.
Sorry Lynne, I completely forgot to discuss this with Clive when I saw him yesterday.
It's a definite for me, and if the Dutch contingent are happy, I'd suggest we join them on their stand, so we are all together.
Shame we've missed the early booking deadline though, due to my tardiness (I had a personal issue and major forum problem - ongoing - on my mind, excuses.....) .
I'm seeing Clive and Lisa on Sunday so will discuss publicising this on the forum.
On the wider 2024 meetings front, I've said to Clive and Lisa I'd like to get a mailshot out in February to all MRC members, now that show dates are pretty much sorted for 2024. If anyone has other shows we should consider adding for this year, let me know. The obvious big one is JDM Combe on Sat 20 July.
Malcolm, Can we still not get Early Bird club tickets? https://events.fastcar.co.uk/japfest-classic/club-tickets/

You are correct, Lisa. We've missed the boat on the free Meguiar's cleaning kit, but Early Bird tickets are still available. WE can chat about it tomorrow :)

Price £20 for car plus driver, then £20 per passenger (£4 for children age 5-14, under 5's free)

Hello again,
Apologies for the lack of communication after my initial post! It turns out that I'm actually going to be in Italy that weekend (having managed to get an extra week at my timeshare) - doh! So I will probably go to the Silverstone Japfest event in April instead.
Hopefully, Goodwood will become an annual favourite and I can join you and our Dutch friends next year!
Looking forward to catching up at Castle Combe ;)
Italy - a good substitute Lynne ;D
See you at Combe then :icon_thumleft:
Any more interest in this event? Its the day before my 70th Birthday :13:, so I can either have a pre celebration at Goodwood or go away for the weekend :13:
Hi, I'm interested in coming along and displaying my car if that's ok?
Thanks
Rob

Hi is it still possible to get a club booking password please?
Thanks
Rob
Rob, you have a PM :)

That's great thanks, for some reason I can't reply to your message? I'm definitely interested, I'd take my FD.
Thanks
Rob
Hi Rob. Ooops, I forgot PM's can't be sent by "guest" members on this forum, only full members.
I've sent you another PM confirming the code and you are "clear" to book now :13:
Let me know when done, so I can keep track :)
Thanks for confirming Rob, see you there :icon_thumleft:
@Rob. There is very little information so far about this event. Stand passes are due to be sent out and maybe there will be some further information included with those (hopefully).
On the basis the show opens to the public from 10am, it is a reasonable assumption the organisers will want cars on stands before that time. On that basis, having nothing better to go on, myself and group of FB owners, plus an RX-8 and maybe the small Dutch contingent, plan to meet up in the nearby Halfords Car Park at 9am, to depart no later than 9.15 for the event. If you want to to join the convoy, please let me know.
We may revise that time if we get more info from the organisers!Goodwood 1.jpg
Map of RV point:
Stand passes now received via email!
It is unclear as to the latest times that cars are expected to arrive. There is conflicting information on the email and attached document; 9.00am or 9.30am.
We have therefore decided to convoy from Halfords car park by 8.45am latest.
@Rob, if you wish to join us in the convoy, please let me know, else if everyone I'm aware of has arrived before 8.45am, we may leave earlier ;D

3 hour non-stop trip down to Chichester today, some 70mph cruising and some crawling traffic. Car was awesome, didn't miss a beat. Very enjoyable trip down.
See you all tomorrow!
I parked up in Chichester with nothing either side of me. Came back an hour later to find a Japanese sandwich
I wonder where those 2 are headed tomorrow ;)

A slightly disappointing event, partly due to the dismal and drizzly weather, partly due to it being a totally static event! Being at Goodwood, I was expecting at least something moving on track, even if parades :(
The best bit was the large variety of cars on display, and the opportunity to meet and chat with other Mazda Rotary owners.
Huge kudos to Kees and his party, who came all the way over from Holland to be at this event :notworthy:
Here are two photos of the Dutch stand, with my car included.
The RX7fb.com Club also had a nearby stand at this event. I moved my car later in the day, so we could get a rare line up of UK RX-7 1st Gens! Sadly, one had already left the stand at this point, so it would have been 6 x 7's in the line-up.
Sorry we could not make this one, especially as I would have loved to have seen Kees's Red Cosmo as I have never seen a red one before.
Hopefully more pictures will appear ;)
A couple more of Kees' Cosmo
Thanks Malcolm :great:
