Title: Broken Brake Shoes !
Post by: clive on November 27, 2022, 01:57:00 PM
Little warning for anyone with a Series 1 RX-7 or older with rear brake shoes.

Took the RX-4 out for a run on Friday and noticed a sticking brake but just a little. Thinking it was just a little rust in the drum or on a disc I thought it would sort itself out!

When I got back I went to push it back in the garage and heard a clonk and the car wouldn't move.

Stripped yesterday and found the ferodo material had fallen off the metal shoe, never ever seen that happen before  ??? .

Blimey I only fitted new ones 20 years ago, now where's that warranty form  >:D
