As announced today the ULEZ zone expansion has been approved. Anyone got any suggestions for a way around as a London owner of an 1992 FD RX7 UK car? It isn't compliant for ULEZ despite leaving the factory with two catalytic converters.

Just looked up exemptions and found this for you/
Maybe take the RX-2 Home if its old enough and leave the FD at work?.
In line with the existing LEZ discount all vehicles constructed before 1 January 1973 are exempt from the ULEZ, regardless of commercial use or otherwise. If your vehicle meets the above criteria but is registered outside the UK, it is also exempt, but you will need to register it with us before travelling in the zone.
All vehicles that have a historic vehicle tax class are exempt from the ULEZ. (so if you pay no Road Tax on the RX-2 you are OK)
Always a good idea to keep the Rx-2 at home! ;)
Currently fuming!

Now going to cost me £12.50 just to get off the drive. Yet aother tax burden to finance for TFL
Still, it seems paying means the 'pollution' doesn't count?!? Its bad enough impacting my "weekend warrior" but affordable given how often she gets driven. However not sure I trust them not to change the rules and go after more ....... rant over (for now

)
Move house or build a 40 year old turbo 13b fb

then give me your fd I will look after it for you

Also just read that Heathrow is within the ulez zone. So someone like me who hasnt been to london since the 90s but ive been to Heathrow numerous times will get charged

to go on holiday.
Pure money making.
Those 2 incinerators on the Thames that gov approved put circa 26000 tonnes of c02 ea annually into the environment.

What narks me is this country is so insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
This "we can all make a difference" ........get real ! The whole of the UK can eradicate every single internal combustion engine and the polar bears will still suffer. China and America clearly have no intention of changing tactics.
China are too arrogant to care and most of the US dont know there's a world outside of America, oooooooo you got me on my soap box now lol

for a result in 2022 ...........
Yep. If you allow me to share your soap box, Jamie: The political response to the environmental crisis seems to primarily be the launch of new corporate business opportunities by increasing production (and pollution) to new heights. While their fat cat mates fill their coffers, politicians distract the public by making them feel the pressure of so-called "new environmental policies".
Shortening the lifespan of existing engines by accelerating their replacement by 1 billion electric cars won't bring emissions down and it certainly won't save the environment. Producing one new car (electric or otherwise) still pollutes as much as running a small diesel for 7 years...
,
They will probably have banned the ICE by the time the Seven is 40 years old
Along with fellow MP's from Outer-London and constituencies which border London I'm calling on the Mayor of London to abandon his plans to extend the ULEZ to places like #Beckenham.
Sign my petition at https://www.beckenhamconservatives.com/Stop-Labours-Ulez-Extension
Not sure he's listening but added my name to the list .......
The video on that link doesn't show the Mayor of London in a good light at all - rude, and quite a bully!
Ulez is a legal theft and we the British people are responsible for these shortcomings!
When you have an MOT for the vehicle, then why do you need ulez?
I just hope people vote next time carefully!
I live in London and my weekends are greatly disturbed. I would rather feed a hungry, home a homeless than giving money to a money making mayor!
If we stand together, politicians can't do anything against pur will.
Cheers
