Title: My Mazda Roots
Post by: clive on June 20, 2022, 08:57:27 PM
Today I went back to my Mazda roots with an invite to Bourne Road Garage Crayford Kent to see  Andrew Moore Smith MD  accept the 50th Anniversary Award for selling Mazda cars from Jeremy Thomson - Managing Director of Mazda UK, along with Mazda HQ personnel who also attended.

The connection to Bourne Road Garage, was that I started my Mazda apprenticeship just one year after they started selling Mazda vehicles in 1973. I could never have predicted forty nine years ago that my first job would lead to not only owning and Racing Mazda's, but also forming a company that proudly sells Mazda products all over the world.

Great photos and milestone. Have they always use cars to block off the entry/exit (when closed) back then aswell or ls that a relatively recent approach?

Matt, years ago the forecourt was very different with only a few cars out the front as it was a petrol station as well

Always makes me chuckle seeing them using cars as barriers
