We have booked to attend with the RX4 on the Saturday 21st.

There is a little further info about the event here: https://www.retroridesweekender.com/
EVERYONE COMING ON THE SATURDAY NEEDS TO BOOK THEIR PARKING SPACE IN THE RETRO PARKING AREA:
https://retroridesevents.azurewebsites.net/displayapplication/retroparking
Nearer the date, we will need to arrange a local rendezvous time/place so we can all meet up to drive in together, as there will be no marked out areas for club stands, but the organisers have said there is no problem for us to all park up together to create our stand :)
In my diary :icon_thumleft:
I have booked for Saturday, but I didn't spot where to nominate a vehicle I would be attending in ??
Tickets booked for Saturday.

I've booked into the Premier Inn, Chichester South for the Friday night, as it's a bit more than a day trip for me :)
Link for the Premier Inn hotel myself and Malcolm or staying at on the Friday evening

Car booked in to Retro Area. We are staying at the Fontwell Park Travelodge on Friday/Saturday which is handy for Goodwood.

Hi Dave have you booked the GT40 into the Retro area or the RX7? as we have not booked any of the cars into the Retro area?
Reply to my self :13: Have booked the RX4 in today into the Retro parking area :icon_thumright:
Clive,
I booked RX7 into retro parking area on 31st Jan. I just checked my email and there is no code on it. I have requested a new code so I can check and update my booking if required.
Dave
Strange. I was given code to manage my retro area booking when I booked parking back in January, so I 'd thought I'd check. The code takes me to a blank booking page, with no details of my or my car :dontknow:
I was issued another new code automatically which DOES show my booking details when I use it.
I'm not sure how the organisers will check on the day that a car has been booked into the retro area? They are not issuing any form of additional ticket? Maybe they aren't that bothered in individual cars, just wanting to know the rough overall number so they can plan space accordingly?
I have requested a new code twice and nothing received so far. I tried emailing the organisers but got undeliverable response to both email addresses I tried. Have now messaged them on Facebook so will see what happens.
The links to the images I uploaded on to their site do work so they do have something.
Will wait and see. Worst case I will just bring a print out of the response email I received.
Also any thoughts on meeting up point yet? One possible option could be Halfords Car Park at PO19 7AG. This is just off the main road to Goodwood. Store opens at 8AM.
Dave
Received a response to my query:
"Definitely good for Retro parking, all retro parking is automatically approved for pre-2000 cars.
Hopefully an email follow up tomorrow with passes to print to get your car in the right spot and a link for tickets"
I will see what I receive. Already have tickets.

Great minds think alike Dave! I'd sent the very same postcode to Lisa by email as a suggestion a couple of days ago. I wasn't sure which car park in that area to use, but Halfords car park sounds like a good one, as they open at 8am.
Let's agree on that location then :icon_thumleft:
Next, what time do people want to gather there for the 5 minute drive to the event? Gates open at 8am for us, 9am for the public, as I understand it. What about meeting up to depart promptly at 8.30am as a suggestion? Does that suit everyone else?
I've found a series of FIVE very confusing emails from the organisers in my junk email folder, 4 arrived yesterday (10 May) and one today.
The final one today provides a link to an A4 windscreen pass, with a unique QR code and "RED ROOM DISPLAY" emblazoned on it.
What has everyone else received? If nothing, check your junk folder(s).
Just received this back via messenger
Hello Lisa,
Retro Parking people can arrive from 8am, depending on what time you arrive depends on where you end up parking. We start at one end of the venue and gradually fill it. As long as you arrive together you'll be parked together.
What windscreen pass have you got Clive?
It seems I may have been "moved" from Retro Parking to the "Red Room", on of the curated display paddocks/areas, as it matches the pass that has been emailed to me? I didn't request this move - detailed here http://www.retroridesweekender.com/displays.html
I got a pass yesterday with no qr code for retro parking now today I have a hand full of emails cancelling all other emails and have also received a red pass ? I must have got 20 + emails from them so far all passes or apologies for wrong emails and my car is brown not red

Not sure what is going on, all I have is the Retro parking pass and the tickets.
I think as long as we all go into together we will get parked up together. :sign0098:
I think they are just getting so confused what with so many cars attending.
Clive, did you receive an email today with a pass link? Or is the Retro Parking pass you mention the one without a QR code that I, and it seems Rich, received yesterday, before we both received a "Red Room" pass today?
I think if we all arrive with the "Blank QR Code" passes from yesterday, that ought to work, as at least they are all the same ;) ;D
Do we need to print this as well?

your in the new build area

:)) :)) :)) :)) This is farcical!
Looks like Clive's in the "Deadline" area, Rich and I in the "Red (/Brown) Room" area and goodness know where everyone else is situated :(
Just take the blank retro area pass a stick the other qr code on it done

I have just received the Retro area pass with blank QR code area (this is apparently OK as space just left from a previous design according to organiser FB post).
Happy to get to Halfords to leave at 8:30 if that suits. Will aim for sometime before 8:15.
Dave
Sent this message last night:-
Just to let you know we have all received different window passes, for example our 1973 Mazda is allocated to the New Build section 😀 We are just going to come in all together and hopefully we will not be split up on arrival?
Reply today :-
Yeah I had a total email system melt down that sent everyone the wrong thing.
Going to send an email later today explaining and then on Sunday send out to everyone exactly what they need, definitively.
Well done everyone, I think the fog of confusion is gradually clearing :13:
I'll wait until the organisers send out the promised instructions on Sunday, then I'll post up in here to (re)confirm with everyone the meeting point, timing, passes needed and anything else that springs to mind :D
The list so far, who I believe have BOTH:
- BOUGHT a ticket (one per adult)
- REGISTERED for Retro Parking
- Clive and Lisa (RX-4)
- Malcolm & Gwyn (RX-7 FB)
- Dave (& Sally?) (RX-7 FB, or GT40 ;D)
- Rich (Merc 280E)
- Martin (RX-7 FD)
Just to let you know that Jim will be joining us with his RX7FC :sign0098:
Excellent, be good to see Jim and his FC :great:
Will be FB and Sally is attending as well. Will be good to see everyone next week.
Dave
Ok, have rece'd new pass for Saturday are we are the same?
Yep, the same pass sent to me (via a link in an email). I'd already printed the same sheet with the "blank" top left-hand corner, otherwise identical, so I'll use the one I've printed.
So, summary for next Saturday.......................
The list so far, who I believe have BOTH:
- BOUGHT a ticket (one per adult)
- REGISTERED for Retro Parking
- Clive & Lisa (RX-4)
- Malcolm & Gwyn (RX-7 FB)
- Dave & Sally (RX-7 FB, or GT40 ;D)
- Rich & Karin (Merc 280E)
Martin (RX-7 FD)- Jim (RX-7 FC TII)
Can everyone confirm they can meet up in the Halfords Car Park, PO19 7AG, for a (latest) 8.30am convoy departure? If everyone happens to arrive before 8.30am, we'll leave a little earlier. You will need a Retro Area pass for your windscreen and a ticket per adult attending the show.
Looking forward to it now, and to meeting everyone :)
I'll be there :great:
We will be there Malcolm - following you :sign0098:
Karin and I will c u there beforehand

See you at Halfords.
Dave
I emailed Martin (nozyboy) yesterday to check if he was still coming tomorrow.
He has replied has a clash in his diary and can't make it to Goodwood tomorrow.
Gwyn and I are about to set off for Goodwood, as the Dartford Crossing is showing an hour delay due to a lorry breakdown. We'll have to go the long way round, showing as 40 minutes quicker, but still a near 4 hour trip :(
Hi everyone we won't make it to halfords beforehand tomorrow morning be more like 9am when we get there will keep an eye out for ya all try keep us a spot

That was a very enjoyable and chilled event - nowhere near as hectic as the Festival events at Goodwood. Lovely to see and catch up with the small band of members who came along to see the show. I hope everyone had a good day and got home safely. KIMI 3 was a pleasure to drive and managed 34mpg, which was unexpectedly good. Here are a few pictures, including Richnzj's Merc 280E and some of the race cars in Clive's race series:
Thanks for the pictures Malcolm.
Great to spend time with you all,
Such a shame more did not attend as it was a good day out
Good pictures Malcolm & Cars look great. :sign0098:
Is that a Black TII Coupe I see lurking?
It was a good day out, with lots of lovely cars, and nice to catch up. I was suffering from sunburn on Sunday, I don't know why I don't learn. Yes that is my FC lurking.
