We never got the SP here but some dealers used to offer Mazda upgrades, such as suspension for them etc , much the same as British Leyland special tuning and Ford RS dealers did.

Used to really like the RX-3 Estate when I used to work on them when they were new.
First thing when all the Mazda's arrived was to change the tyres, as the Japanese spec Tyres were deemed for to harder compound for use in the UK. No idea what used to happen to all those white wall tyres though ::) Thin white wall not full white wall. (god knows how I remember this stuff)
