Excellent thread! :great:
Here comes a Swedish spec 13B-powered RX4
That looks to be in excellent condition :love4:
Every now n then a car manufacturer just gets it right.
A car that looks good from any angle
The rx4 is one of those
I could mention some others but ya know it's all personal taste I guess

This one just came up for sale: https://www.finn.no/car/used/ad.html?finnkode=207838480 (https://www.finn.no/car/used/ad.html?finnkode=207838480)
1973 929HT ready for assembly with Rx8 machinery.
Ooooh, that's lovely!
I concur that is nice.
First to admit I never heard of a 929. But yeah wow.
It's the right colour too

We didn't get the Rx4 here (the Swedes did), we got the somewhat less exciting piston version, the 929, and it sold really well as HT coupé, four door and wagons.
The equation goes
Rx4 coupé
- rotary
+ 1.8 litre four-banger
- cockpit-style ceiling instruments

Currently for sale in NZ, a 1974 sedan:
Very, very nice, and RHD too :love4:
Those kiwis are in a class of their own! turning out clean straight looking cars
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yep, they're in a class of their own. Can't have harmed that they built rotary Mazdas in New Zealand. The cars were shipped over from Japan in crates and boxes and assembled in that country (a clever way to avoid import taxes and offer local employment as a bonus). Unfortunately that class-of-.their-own bit also counts for the prices. The blue Rx4 sedan is advertised for no less than 72,000 NZD. This brown coupé is slightly cheaper... Well, bids start at 65K!
Is this what they call the "flat nose" Rx4?

Good money car, ripe for a Rotary install and its in my colour.
It needs one of these under the bonnet
And now this 818 coupé: https://www.finn.no/car/used/ad.html?finnkode=215117812 (https://www.finn.no/car/used/ad.html?finnkode=215117812) And the price? Well, the usual £8500,-

My old mate Furb, who I have known for many many years did a wonderful job on this car.
He bought the car originally from Scotland and went on to created a masterpiece
p.s. dont say it too loudly, but it's actually a converted 929 ;)
Yep, that's one impressive conversion! Very beautiful. Here's an unconverted one for comparison:
Been some time since we posted an Rx4. This one is FAST!
Haha. Found one for this week, too!
Look at this gem from Greece. This guy Alex must be brave to take on a massive job like this. And what a result! Very tasteful restoration! :sign0098:
I suppose that 12A is not the original engine of this late model Rx4?

No the engine became a 13B by then
Only a 929, but too nice to ignore. And beautifully shot.
929 coupé conversion. But with a six-pot from Toyota rather than a rotary. The things people do...

Yes a lot of money, but by the looks of the build quality you would be pushed to build another for that money.

First Rx4-feature of 2022 is not an Rx4, but a 2-litre swapped 929HT. And it's in a climbing wall! Nice, tho:

I take it those wheels are not original - they look like they are from an RX-7 FB Series 2?
Yep, those are FB rims. I assume you wouldn't prefer a set of 28" Simmonds? :))
The exhaust tailpipe is one of those fake twin exhaust jobs, too. Some weird stuff under the bonnet as well (one red-painted carb?)
But looks complete and body wise not too bad under that flaking layer of clear paint. And it's got the "boxing glove" bumpers as well.

No less than THREE Rx-4s (or botched-up 929HTs?) for sale in Hungary. Project cars. Should be enough to build one. € 4300 for the lot.

I wonder if they could still become race cars though
Why not? The blue one doesn't look too far gone body wise. You'll get at least one salvageable body and a pile of rare parts to sell off. If something's missing, Jamie can make some lightweight GRP panels for you. ;)
All three seem to have LA22S VIN codes, too. Unless that hole in the blue firewall suggests something else...
Something like this on your mind? ;D
Another 929HT pointy nose for sale. At € 28K it is starting to give rotaries a run for the money. That's a very swish garage, btw! :great:

The NazMaz Rx4 – The whole restoration in fast forward for those of you with tight schedules. ;)
Road Atlanta 1977. Only posting some stills, cause it's from a Datsun propaganda movie where they desperately tried to edit out the rotary Mazdas. Some very short glimpses of a nice Rx3, too, but too low quality to share.
