Anyone able to measure the length of an rx8 shaft please?
Also how many splines it has on the ends.

Yes please.
The complete end to end with the ends cups on.
Also how many splines are on the shaft that goes in the diff and the other end that sits in the hub.

which side do you want as they are going to be different lengths ?
i think the splines where it goes into the diff 30 number and its 30mm in diameter but i will check when im there tomorrow as my memory is getting on just like me lol

Wonder why the rx8 shafts are shaped like that? The mx5 ones are fat all down the buddle.

Prety sure the rx8 shafts you have and the mx5 ones I have are the exact same length.
Been googling for ages now but any related info I find the people on the forums don't let it be known common knowledge and every thread ends up with "send me private message and I will help you"

Spline count is correct.
Now all I need to do is find out if the wheel bearing hub asemmbly is the same. Lol
Got to check all these things before committing to getting an rx8 diff to mount in my mx5 subframe

Yes tecount is a good idea i had to count several times the number kept changing lol
I would expect the shafts to be the same length but smaller diameter asits less power. I assume your talking about mk 3 mx5. I saw a vid the other day showing how mx5 racers use some rx8 drive line bits to think there is a problem with mx5 drive flange failing when pushed hard in racing. They swopped bits round to get rx8 drive flange i to an mx5 hub which i guess means you can use rx drive shafts and diff as well ??

Seems a lot of work swapping bearing over but at least I know I can do them and make things stronger.
Found a company that makes stronger centre section for rx8s axle too.
