Anyone got any ideas what the problem could be. Ive put it down to an oil seal failure..not sure which type though maybe a side seal? which could be the cause of the unburned fuel entering the engine oil which has diluted it quite badly..very thin, strong petrol smell..black. When i first got the car i did 140 on the way back and the engine was a beauty all the way and for weeks later. The engine oil was still in new condition with no signs of breakdown..but now im just thinking of getting bruces videos and carry out the rebuild myself...with the help of specialists to examine the housings, turbos etc . i plan on buying the master kit from rotaryavation..anybody got any comments about these guys?
It is normal to get a build up of this crud every so often. It comes with the damp weather we are having.
Clear it out, take it for a drive and check it after that. If you have crud again, I would think along the lines of a water seal on its way out.

Yep is quite normal, usually just a little bit of damp/condensation in the oil which evaporates off and leaves a milky gunk on the top of your oil cap, so i\'d change the oil and see if it happens again.
And regards to rotary aviation, yep Laura is a top girl at RA and she will be able to sort you out with whatever you need. Just went over the 1000mile mark yesterday on a rebuilt engine using the RA master rebuild kit:cool Shame Brian just de-tuned it in order to pass the emissions otherwise we may of had some fun on the way back from Croydon:rolleyes: ;)
Good luck, Paul:)
oh yeah..forgot to mention but i have only just done an oil/filter change bout 300miles ago.. nice golden oil when i did that. i used castrol 10w40 mineral..also the sludge in the oil cap is mustard colour not white. its the engine oil i am mainly concerned about. It looks too thin to lubricate anything..very runny and diluted...there is defo a problem just not sure what it is??
