So the mx5 aem wideband is in to me a strange location.. its pretty much level with the back wheels. Where is the optimum place to put it ? Car is turbod so thinking at end of downpipe just as it starts to go along under carriage. At the moment its on a crappy base map and showing lean on idle 22afr but its rich.... :icon_thumleft:
I'd put it about half way down the down pipe.
If it's at the rear of the car it has more chance to suck air in from any possible leaks, whether it be joins in the exhaust or cracked welds.
If it smhas any air suckled in then it will read wrong
If you mount it under the car make sure it's a 9 or 3 o'clock relative to the ground, that is that ground would be at 6 o clock and at the bottom of the pipe any water in the exhaust would/could go in the sensor and ruin it

found some info yep as you say. at least 24 inches away from turbo..so ill choose a place on midpipe which wont get in the way if i have to fit a mid silencer. :great:

Yeh I saw the 24" distance but mainly applied towards NA exhausts with relation to putting it after all exhausts have merged together.
Was it 24"from the port?
