Mazda Rotary Club

If anyone wants to see lots of saloons and single seaters that will be Racing on MSVR tracks in 2020, come along and have a look for free.

I will be there  with the Race car representing Track Attack and  Banzai magazine  who will be sponsoring the Nippon series this year.

I have attached the program and garage layout for anyone interested.

Unlike the last outing at Brands, I am hoping for dry weather so I can test my new Advan slicks.

Both mags featured the car some five years ago.

They did say the cars changed so much, lets do it again, but I told them, "maybe" later in the year as I know what people are like!

If my car popped up first, people would only say that I arranged the deal to get my car in!!

They will feature a Nippon car and a write up in each mag throughout the year, first up I nominated Paula Webb with her quick tidy Civic  :)

Cars in the garage at Brands along with the Ferrari's and Radicals etc, ready for the Media day tomorrow. Both Andrew (Jinx) and Malcolm are coming along with his super dupa camera so there should be some excellent pictures of the day out on Friday.

Thanks go to Adam (AG Vinyl Stickers) for getting the Banzai stickers done that will go on all the Nippon Cars in Tack Attack, plus the Rotary Powered sticker as I thought it was about time we told the world "its a Rotary"!

Spent a few hours in the freezing wind at Brands Hatch earlier. Clive's car was going well and sounded awesome!

I have a lot of pics and video to sort, but won't be able to do that until after this weekend as I'm at the RX-8 OC AGM+Annual Meet weekend  ;)


A teaser for now:

Brands Hatch....To be fair it was four seasons in a single day from snow to sunshine with everything else in between but 'Christine' behaved herself, possibly because there were cameras everywhere making her probably the most visible thing on the track in a snowstorm and as you know....she does love the attention! 

Clive's move to slicks for the last run of the day was intended as a way for him to get a pre-season feel for them.  It sounded like lunacy to everyone else but it had dried by then...almost everywhere except the corner with the busiest gravel trap of the day!  He took a long time to get any heat into them but after that it was off like the proverbial scalded cat - chasing everything in front of it...which was nice to see.

By then though, the rest of us were freezing cold and had numb feet. I felt a bit guilty about leaving him to load the trailer himself but in the absence of a single bikini clad promotional person (shockingly notable for their absence!)...I went home in brilliant sunshine but very grateful for the heater.

Good to see and chat to you earlier Andrew. My feet and fingers quickly returned some feeling with my A/C turned up to 24 degrees as I left the circuit. That's one advantage of a rotary, they throw out a lot of heat!

I think you'll find I did not mention the gender and would have been interested to see anyone foolhardy enough to wear the garment in question.  :))
