Hi Lisa/Casey!

As luck would have it, I'm not working that weekend, so have just bought a ticket via the RX8OC link.
I also added the extra details to the form as requested, so I hope there is still room for my FD on the stand.

Looking forward to meeting up with everyone again.
Best wishes,
Lynne   :)

Fantastic you are both able to join us for this one. Just hoping now it doesn't fall foul of coronavirus event rules.

We are certainly planning on the basis this goes ahead, but obviously are in the hands of the Govt and event organisers

Statement from the organisers in the last 24 hours - all go!

"Yaksuhi would like to express how saddened we are about the effect that the coronavirus (COVID-19) is having on events across the country and the world.
We all face challenging times ahead, especially if public gatherings are scaled back or cancelled.

We have been in constant contact with our venues of Whittlebury Hall Hotel and Spa and British Motor Museum who we cant thank enough for their help and guidance.
Currently there is no plans to cancel both Yakushi events but should we be forced down that route then tickets will be refunded or transferred if dates are changed.

Please look out for each other, our goals of cars.clubs.community is needed by one and all right now."

Thanks Mark, more information has now come to light...

Covid-19 has meant this event is currently postponed until Sunday 26 July which, unfortunately, clashes with Simply Japanese at Beaulieu  :(

The RX-8 OC are currently deciding whether to cancel Yakushi, or run with both Yakushi and Beaulieu. If both go ahead, I shall choose to go to Beaulieu, but we do have an RX-8 OC Events Team guy in Derby, and he may well decide to lead on Yakushi, especially for those closer to Gaydon.

I'll keep people posted, as this things are very fluid, as you all know!

For anyone who can't make the postponed date, we will be offering a full refund in due course. Bear with us while we sort out how best to do this. In the meantime, it might be a good idea for everyone to state here whether they would like to request a refund as the new date is not suitable.

Hello Casey thanks for the reply, like you I would rather go to Beaulieu. (If it goes ahead). If it is possible please transfer the £20 I have already paid for two to go to Beaulieu, cannot remember if that is enough, if not let me know.
Hope you and the family are safe and well. Mark

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: this event has now been postponed until Sunday 26 July. This date clashes with "Simply Japanese" at Beaulieu. Currently, assuming both events still go ahead, the RX-8 OC will be supporting BOTH, so people can choose which event they prefer.

The Adult entry price for Yakushi is £10.00
The adult entry price for Beaulieu was £10.50, but the RX-8 OC have decided to subsidise this by 50p, so price now £10

That will mean that anyone who has already paid for Yakushi can stay with that decision, or post up here that they wish to change their payment over to Beaulieu entry at no extra cost.

I will be transferring my ticket over to Beaulieu.

I have requested Markp's payment  (x2 tickets) be transferred to Beaulieu, as posted above  :icon_thumleft:

I believe

LynneE (Lynne)
noyzboy (Martin) &
exiled-viking (Tony)

have currently paid for their Yakushi tickets?

Tony - I've picked up your request on the RX-8 OC to stick with Yakushi, so that's fine  :icon_thumleft:

Lynne and Martin, can you post up here if you'd like to stick with Yakushi, or switch to Beaulieu at no extra cost and I'll inform the RX-8 OC.

Of course, if the 26 July date is an unsuitable date, just let me know and I'll arrange for a full refund.

Hello Casey,

Unfortunately July 26th is a working weekend for me (and, as a cargo pilot, I still am hard at work.......).
So I’m afraid I will not be able to make either the rescheduled Yakushi or Beaulieu meets now, and would like a refund.
It’s going to be a very quiet summer for my car!   :(

Hope everyone on the forum is keeping safe, sane and well.
Best wishes,
Lynne

Huge thanks for the update Malcolm.

As you say this is provisional so its probably best to just see what happens as time goes on and see if sanctions are lifted or not.

@Clive - yes, not worth anyone paying up until nearer the date, when we can see what events might still be running  :(

@Lynne - it seems we are doomed to have no more than a brief chat! I met you oh so briefly at "Tornado Beaulieu" and missed you at the Mazda Day as I was on holiday. Now this date has been shifted we probably won't meet this year  :(  I'll request your refund from the RX-8 OC. Please post up in here when you see it, so I know the loop has been closed. It might take a week, as Ian (shopkeeper) may want to do the refunds in a batch, when he knows everyone's decision. Stay safe Lynne, sounds like you are going to be very busy in your job :)

Thanks for sorting the refund. I will let you know once it's all sorted.
All the best for now,
Lynne

Sadly, due to the current covid-19 restrictions, the RX-8 OC have decided, quite rightly IMHO, not to have a stand at this event.

The RX-8 OC will be refunding anyone who paid for a ticket.

As far as I'm aware, the show will go on, undoubtedly with some restrictions, especially wrt museum visits.

There is nothing to stop an individual attending by purchasing a ticket direct, just no club stand or group attendance  :(

***Attention Everyone***

In view of the current situation the Club will not be attending Yakushi due to the Social Distancing Rules from Covid19, it has therefore been decided to cancel this Event within the RX-8OC :(

Those of you who have paid within the Club Shop have been reimbursed the price of your ticket(s) :icon_thumleft:

If you still want to attend the Event, then it will be up to yourselves to make the necessary arrangements for this year :(

Once again am sorry we have reached this decision, but a lot of it is out of our hands and we also have to consider your welfare :icon_thumright:
