Title: Anti after burn solenoid pumbing
Post by: rickkyyp on October 11, 2017, 07:42:55 PM
On my car the AAV solenoid (the yellow one) only has one end connected to the rats nest the other end is just capped off?

Is this normal?
On the vacuum diagram from the training manual it appears to be capped off as well, but why fit a valve at all if its going to have one side capped off anyway.

Can anyone shed light on this?

No answer for this one Rick and it would seem nobody else has either.

Unfortunately every bit of useful info online relates to USA spec FC's, which got a whole different emissions system + electronic ignition etc.

I know that its to let air into the aft rotor when using engine braking to prevent pops and bangs. (Presumably because the stock ECU isn't smart enough just to cut fuel)
But I would have thought it would need an air source.

All the more reason to go stand alone to I can remove all this junk!
