Post by: Jenks01 on August 16, 2004, 05:51:57 PM
hello!!

Don\'t know if anyone has looked on autotrader website recently, but there is a 2002 52 reg RX-7 for sale from a company called euronet motors, and it\'s only £14,995!!! isn\'t that really cheap for the last of the RX-7\'s???????? can anyone tell me what type it is???? if I had the money now I\'d buy it as it\'s only got 16,000 km\'s on it and it\'s in the UK now!!!!!

get back to me!!!!!!!!

http://www.euronetmotors.co.uk/_euronet.htm

no fine print on the website but I guess that wouldn\'t be an on the road price possible + shipping + tax + customs fee\'s + SVA + kitchen sink etc. etc. ?

why not ring up and ask them if you are interested ?

Been there, seen it, driven it!

Would suggest avoid it.  It may be genuine, but something about really doesn\'t add up. My take on it:

Not great condition - lots of door dents etc. Easily removed, I guess though.

Chassis number apparently relates to a 99/00 car. But it  is now registered as as 2002 on a 52 plate, and sold as one of the last!????

Interior specs, from what I can gather, relate to a 99/00 car. BUT, it has a clutch interlock for the ignition, which apparently was introduced in 2001?

Has cross drilled disks with red calipers, but don\'t know what model these were included on - but Brian Longs reference book for 7\'s made no mention of these upto 2001 - someone else has said these were included on the Spirit R. But this is definately NOT a spirit R!!

So, decided that it probably isn\'t the bargain it appears and has a history that isn\'t obvious. The seller has no paperwork for it, rather he imported it in March, and says it is SVA\'ed and MOT\'ed. He couldn\'t even tell me what model it was.

You have been warned!

But sometimes just sometimes you might find something that really is too good to be true:rolleyes:

True, but not sure this is the one, though!

No doubt someone will buy it, and be very happy with it (until they come to sell it to someonewith some RX7 knowledge!)

But still don\'t understand the discrepencies:

- 2002 registration but with a 99 chassis number
- 99 spec interior
- old style Efini steering wheel (pre-99)
- 2001 clutch ignition lock
- 02 spec cross drilled discs and red calipers

Probably other stuff to. Anyone care to explain the 99 chassis plate on a 2002 car??
