Not rotary related just a general question regarding tyre sizes.
In order to try and soften the ride on my car [getting old and like a bit more comfort] I'm thinking of replacing my front tyres which need doing anyway.
They are currently 235. 35. 19 and I'm thinking of changing to 235. 45. 19
Would this make ant difference to the ride and are there any reasons that I shouldn't
I've looked up the manufacturers original spec and it's 225. 40. 19 so it's changed during it's life anyway.
As its a rotary forum I'll whisper this bit BMW E46 M3 - You probably know I've owned three rotaries so I'm allowed :icon_thumleft:

Yes the bigger profile will help but would advise doing this to all four also lowering the pressures down a few psi.

I did increase the wall size on the rears a few months ago but some knowledgeable guy in a tyre place said I shouldn't mess with the original spec.
Re the pressure, the car has low pressure warning so lowering the pressure is an issue.
A big jump like that will prob cause an abs error. Like said go to 40 profile.

The profile is in proportion to the width of the tyre so the narrower tyre had even less of a profile.
Best go back to what the car has as standard
