Title: elford turbo kit
Post by: jim pratt on March 06, 2017, 09:58:54 AM
Hi all,
due to a change in cicumstances I have sold my fb. I have for sale an elford turbo kit, spare engine, gearbox and various other, bits such as starter, alternator, headlight motors etc. I also have fitting instructions from elford that detail how to replace the problematic micro dynamics rev cut out. I want £500, no offers, i'm sure you all know it's worth it.

Hi,

Could you please list exactly what you are including for the £500 for clarity. Photo's would be good too.

Thanks

DB

Hi DB,
I have the turbo, manifolds, downpipe, su carb, modded sump, engine I believe to be a good runner, gearbox and various bits such as starter, alternator, h/light motors, and a few other odds and sods. I also have instructions on how to do away with the unreliable microdynamics rev limiter box  that I got from Elford about 25 years ago, when I owned a previous Elford. All that is missing is a pressure switch that senses overboost and cuts the ignition. It can't be hard to find something similar to do the job, but I wouldn't bother as I drove one of these daily for 2 years and this never happened, you can always adjust the wastegate anyway.
Cheers,
JP.

With regards to the overboost switch you may find the one from the Renault 5 GT Turbo will do the job
