Title: Black Rubber Friday
Post by: exiled-viking on November 26, 2016, 09:31:52 PM
My black Rubber Friday......!!!

Black Rubber Friday On the way to having my winter service 8 miles out got this Puncture on the right rear @ around 75MPH...!! But around 20 seconds before the puncture I got a warning from my TPMS so I was already slowing down to pull over to take a look.. even with the tire totally deflated it still let me drive to the service garage at 30mph so no tow truck needed just love the steel walled radials there not for every one but stopped the tire from shredding and taking out the wheel arch,... also slow deflation so no wheel Rim damage and still let me drive to my Destination, two new rear tyres on now and the winter underbelly of the car serviced as well as an oil change well pleased.....the 98 mile run home was faultless lol

Epic tyre failure....i know you can run 888s with 0 pressure as ive done it...thats when tpms shows its worth as due to stiff sidewalls doesnot look flat....lol

Pleased your OK Tony, however looking at the tyre wear it looks like you have a geometry issue,

Probably as simple as too much negative camber with not enough tyre contact area for the power you have  8)
