Hi, my first post on here i believe. signed up ages ago but due to pc troubles never got around to posting.
i have an fb rx7 s3. just dropped the engine out leaving the gearbox in as i have bought an early 13b n/a with bridgeport to fit. now heres the bit that i think i understand but just wanted to make sure of before i go ahead ordering and fitting parts.
it came with an exedy rx8 clutch, nice enough but as you probably know that wont fit to my spline, so i assume i need to order an FB clutch or use my original (but i worry this wont be enough) so could i use an FC clutch?
also hoping the flywheel on the motor will fit but again assuming its for an rx8 doubting it so what flywheel should i use original FB or again go for FC as its a 13b motor, counterweight is fitted behind flywheel and im pretty sure the FBone is part of the flywheel? havent got the fly nut off yet as waiting on the 54mm socket so havent been able to inspect it in parts.
excuse my lack of knowledge its the first time having the engine out if im honest.

First up welcome to Mazdarotaryclub :welcome:.
As you will know, if your on the RX-7 FB gear box you need a 22 spline and the RX-8 has a 23 spline.
In answer to your FC question the EGI non Turbo uses a 22 spline and the T11 has a 23 spline so you won't .
One thing you will need to check is that the flywheel is the same diameter because if its larger and your using the FB box your going to need the smaller flywheel on the engine to fit the FB box
If its larger this brings the question of putting the smaller flywheel assembly on the back and if so was this engine balanced with the larger flywheel assembly, if so I would look at fitting an RX-8 5 Speed box

Cheers guys and yes this is my worry, i need to check the spec of flywheel on the 13b as im pretty sure its lightened so neutral in weight as it has a balancer on behind it. so any neutral flywheel can be changed without needing to rebalance?
and heres my fb bodywork and underside all in tact but paint seen better days so ages ago as i coudlnt afford respray decided on temp mods untill i got the neccessary parts to progress properly with it, wrapped it matching red and gave it the usual bolt on arches wheels 40mm low elford race spoiler and mk1golf deep chin spoiler. (pretty sure i was the 1st to do this, seen others since) i was at rrg 13/14 in it and took it up the hill at prescott.
