After taking a wheel off to have it refurbished (damn truck... but that\'s another rant), I noticed the inside edges of the front tyres were getting pretty well scrubbed away. First thought was to get the alignment checked... not many local companies open on a saturday morning, so I ended up going to a fairly generic outlet, not Kwik-fit, but similar. Hardly ideal, but convenient and cheap.
Anyway, long story short, my alignment is out, but correcting it would make tyre wear worse rather than better. The guy did suggest that the camber may be out, but he didn\'t want to try and screw around with it.
So, the questions are:
a) does it sound like the camber is the likely culprit? Could there be something else responsible?
b) Would curing the tyre wear screw up the handling, ie. am I just going to have to live with it?
As ever, massive thanks in advance. :D
mine did that matey, get yer ass to a laser alignment centre and get them sorted out :)
Mine was set to drift.. some REAL odd setting.. scary, when I was toddling along at 140 back started to twitch eeeeek
perfect now though :D
btw it shouldn\'t be uncommon for the fronts to take a battering, only thing thats REALLY gonna wear the backs are wheel spin and drifting.. the front takes a lot of punishment
That was quick. Thanks :)
Laser alignment it is then... although I\'m not sure who around these parts can do it. Ah well, that\'s a question for my old friend google :)
how about this guy (http://www.studdsey.fsnet.co.uk/extlnk/lnkframe.htm?http%3A//www.micheldever.co.uk/)
Says they use "state of the art" wheel alignment.. good to check if they have Rx7 settings.
When I got mine done, I asked for road and track setup :)
Nice one, I\'ll give \'em a call tomorrow. \'Tis a bit of a trek, but at least it\'s a nice (read: fast) drive out that way. :)
Cheers again.
I need mine done, so let me know what they say.
Cheers

Gave \'em a call. They\'re quite happy to do it, camber, caster, toe. Gave me a quote of £114. Dunno how that compares.
Just to verify, I don\'t need fancy suspension or anything to get the above all adjusted, right? Also, how does that price sound, since I\'ve not got any other quotes?
*letting my ignorance show through* :)
