Indeed - I almost made it down to Brands, but building work at my home is over-running so not going to make it.

Results here, just after they happen:

LIVE commentary and timing here:

http://livetiming.tsl-timing.com/163021 (http://livetiming.tsl-timing.com/163021)

RX-7 FD's due to race at 14.10 and 17.50 (UK BST time)

Sadly, Clive's RX-8 will not be on the race grid this afternoon  :(

Good luck to Pukka (Phil) and Paul in the RX-7's. Phil is on the front row of the grid and Paul on row 11.

I understand qualifying this morning was difficult, due to the large number of cars out on track together, so it's going to be very interesting in the race. Regrettably, I shall be on the road, so can't listen in. The compensation is I'm driving my RX-7 FB down to Beaulieu for the "Simply Japanese" meet there tomorrow. If anyone is going to be at Beaulieu Motor Museum tomorrow, come and say hello - I'll be on the RX-8 OC stand, in amongst a large group of 7's and 8's. I think we have 30+ rotaries there  8)

Final result for the RX-7's (starting grid of 34 cars)

Pukka - 2nd place place, fastest lap 54.720s
Paul - 12th place, fastest lap 56 .359s

Well done to both drivers  :), especially Phil for getting onto the podium! Great too that Paul made up so many places.

It was great listening to the live commentary as both cars got a load of mentions  8)

Well done Phil , 2 excellent 2nd places 8)

Pau, looks l like you got out there ok in the thick of things, really hope you enjoyed yourself  :).

BTW first time I had seen the car, its looks great  8)

As for mine, I really can't believe the things that happen to this car, after losing two years due to mapping issues which has cost me 5 engine rebuilds, with this now sorted I was looking forward to getting out there proper and then with no warning the front stationary gear let go and I was only reving to 7500!

Pulled the engine yesterday afternoon and suspect this has now scrapped the whole engine, not giving up but somebody remind me I do this for fun as at the moment it feels like I am ripping my arms off and beating myself around the head with the bloody ends  :(

Still after coming back with 20 years racing experience I should have known better   ;)

p.s. Tony thanks for being pit crew

Had low boost problems all day, only running base boost 0,6 witch is my wet weather Cal. Times where slower than last year, but manage 2 Super GT wins & 2 second overall placings!
Keep with it Clive, & Get on with that gearbox change Paul!

What kind of lap times you could do there if you had full boost? Cause that looked quite good to me! :) And I love that gearbox, what is it? :D

That orange Celica did a nice blocking move ;) Was actually nice to watch that vid cause I recognized few cars from Silverstone event, that red scooby, few mr2s... Btw, why you didnt enter that race?

I just love layout of Brands, I really wish I can visit there some day. Although those height differenses and few of those bends could really screw up my inner ear ;)

Clive, I feel your pain... :( But as Jon said and I said in Silverstone, if you do something that nowone has done before, you could expect some...problems... However, your "christine" is really awesome beast and I was really lucky to see her in action in Silverstone, even though event went bad... Just push forward Sir, car has allready shoved its potential! :)

^^ Thanks for posting that up Phil. Not a bad result at all, given your problems on the day - congratulations  :)
