Well, my brother is more into politics than I am... But I was against EU from the beginning. I just cant understand how few people can dictate lifes of millions of people. In US state system works simply because those countries cultures are quite similar. Here in europe, we have so many cultures and they are so different, so state system cant work...

I have been watching your news sites and all that kind of stuff. I know you are fed up with all that crap too. Ofcourse everyone has different points of view...

For Finlands point of view, only good thing(for me) with us coming to EU was that our car laws was about to change. Our laws were really strict and with EU laws they were going to became easier. However they didnt... Open borders and customs, well that works kind of. Much easier to buy stuff within EU...

Farming, agriculture, well thats another story. EU killed all those little farms... Work force from another countries, yeah right. More unemployed people cause cheap work force is coming in... Factorys, business, firms, well we have non left, everything is purchased or leaved to other country...

At this point we have seen that those few "elite" that controls our lifes are just assholes with their own agenda in mind. Rich people get more money and poor will suffer. Same here with our politicians. I´m so fed up with this system allready that I really am thinking about moving from here. I love my country but I just cant watch them raping our land and citizens... And open borders for immigrants, I wont start that conversation... ;)

You know, I really, truly wish that UK will leaves EU! So then there is a change that EU falls and we Finns will get out of it too. Cause our politicians wont leave it otherwise...  Well, few of my thoughts. Early morning without much sleep so my brain doesent work yet :)

Jarno sums it up nicely, Ive spent hours on the internet researching eu, to make an informed educated decision to remain or leave based on my current and future situation.
I dont trust any politicians as they never deliver on the positives of there manifestos.
Its a massive debate and the current austerity cuts by the Torys are playing into the leave hands as the NHS is on its knees.( this is worse than reported my wife is in nhs finance).
My wages have stagnated for the last 10 years due to cheap labour   flooding the uk. Im an Engineer and have worked in factories for 25 years, unfortunately im classed as shopfloor and my wage neg. are done collectively with every tom dick and harry that is 75% polish who quite simply dont join the union and just simply except any thing mangement tells them like except a off £200 payment and bank holidays are now just a normal working day?! I think terms and condition and certainly pay has actually got worse in last 10 years....i know my pension is pretty much rubbish but thats where eu intervention and uk gov policy gets all greyed up as not sure who to blame....
But im voting leave and already have by postal vote....its a risk In or Out .....did you know the eu wanted to ban modifying cars?
You can make me work til 70 take my bank holidays away, tax me heavily for some crummy art gallery in some corner of europe i have never heard of but if some unelected eu official trys to tell me i cant put a set of aftermarket wheels on my ride then thats it teddys out the pram...Everyone1 i know is voting leave bar 2 people. BUT Its probably rigged anyway ......
And 1 final point Cameron needs to realise Britain is not just about London...and its bloated bankers
Lol...you rattled my cage Clive....

I think the pole is something like 54% of Brits is voting off at this point. And I think all Brits I know is voting off too...

But then we can speculate that what happens in vote, will it be fair or corrupted. Because those who wants Uk to stay in EU has potential to "change" things to their benefit. Yes I know, its a frickin´coverment controls everything plot kind of thinking. But the fact is that people are to kind and stupid and thinks that there is no corruption. Well, here anyways. Even news are propaganda nowadays...

Most ridicilous thing is that UK, France and Germany are the biggest members in Eu and they basically dictates what all europe does. That really pisses me off... One could say that those big three f**cked up Europe. Ofcourse its not that simple, few rotten politician is the fault to europes fall...

ding ding round 2.....
Ill actually be glad when its all over and in or out i can get back on with my life....ive read so much stuff and it just makes my blood boil....
eu grants for factorys in eastern europe that has caused factories in the uk to shut....Cadburys in Bristol for example where 2 mates who i done my apprenticeship with where made redundant .
And the best job ive ever had in a printing factory i worked in shut to relocate to Poland making me personally redundant...i took the first job i could in the worst job i ever had in a chicken killing plant thanks EU.
I still eat chicken  :P but i dont buy any Cadburys products!
Oh and ive worked in French run factory here that you think we all have the same rules due to EU directives....nah complete disregard for health and saftey, no risk assessments, no lock offs....no point in lock offs as no isolators on any motors anyway.....and an overtime rate of 1 and 1/5!!!!!!!

Then theres fringe european countrys set to join the eu that are highly undesirable...anyone remember Kosovo?

Leave, if it all goes tits up, least we can blame ourselves not some bloke in Brussels weve never heard off.

Lol...you rattled my cage Clive....

That was the general idea Jon :D

I won't say anything yet about in or out, but one of the most interesting things about this decision is that just about every one is talking about leaving or staying and  like me before this I have had no interest in politics in any way.

I would say for the first time in our history everyone has a direct opinion on the direction they want their country to go, 200% more than just voting a political party in or out.

Mind you not every one (including me) has a full grasp of the facts,

I was told about an overheard conversation about a guy who said "I voting to stay in, because if we leave we can't play football in the Euro Cup" !!!!

me thinks he needs a little more info  ;D ;D

My Neighbour is remainer and we had a discussion why....he works for a large US company and the uk is the european base its the door into europe . I fully understand his decision its about looking at your own personal circumstances and how in or out will effect you then make an informed decision.
Politics is boring and you cant trust any of them.
What i will say is if you are undecided then get on youtube....all the facts are there or ill give you £20.00 to vote leave.......

I'm currently in the "out" camp. The lack of facts and the "fear wars" make it very difficult to reach a clear conclusion of what is best for me, my family and the future of our country. I fear Brexit will bring short term pain for us, but with a longer term gain, being freer to make our own decisions in the World. I'm truly saddened in my belief that the EU experiment has gone horribly wrong, expanding too quickly to 28 nations, some of whom should never have been allowed to join due to their economic situation. The original aim of an open and free market was laudable, but that aim has now been tarnished by the increasing scope of the EU, increasingly eroding our ability to make decisions in the best interests of our nation.

I started out being an "in" supporter and I could still be swayed by a (very) convincing "in" argument, but that is yet to happen. I fully admit I do have a fear of the unknown consequnences of Brexit, but the certainty of being trapped in the sadly failing EU experiment is a more chilling prospect

I can honestly say ive spent days researching, ive spoke to educated people in senior management, friends, family, polish people i work with, a retired army general and loads of time on youtube and google as i was an undecided. No 1 has a crystal ball and magic wand but this EU army scares the hell out of me....fact : British troops on salisbury plain not wearing british flags on there uniforms.....weve done enough poking with the stick of our own and i dont want tobe any part of EU poking Putin with a stick...why dont people learn from history.

That is true, you have a change to make a difference to change your future. We Finns dont, and thats a huge deal!
And if you are afraid about your future, so does anyone else inside EU. Ofcourse everyone is trying to intimidate you, if you are leaving, so what. Think about this, what would happen if lets say Texas would leave States...? That is a fun interesting thing to wonder...

Ofcourse no one knows all the facts. But vote is based on your thoughts and facts, what you believe...

Im moving to Rotorland. Super unleaded is free. No speedlimits and you get a free rebuild every year if your a good boy. Its a massive triangle shaped island with grade A  tarmac stretching for miles and miles with a force field round it. Politicians are vapourised if they come anywhere near it. Thats enough from me on the eu. I cant do anything about it except my 1 vote....what will be will be. Aint worth the bloodpressure.

A few years ago on politic debate on tv, journalist asked what is good on eu. One finnish politician told that we dont need a passport to travel in eu anymore. We only need licenced ID card. ( a passport, drivers licence isnt ID card). So whats the point? Is this the benefit we have when we pay hundreds of millions a year? Finland havent got money from eu since -98. ( if i remember correct).
Im fine with 5% sallary lost but there are thoulsads of finnishpeople who are starving on souplines. What we do? We raise our healtcare excess share with 30% to have 65 million saving. At the same time we shoot half a billion development assistance to china. That money didnt go to a poor states of china, no, it went to high economy citys.
China isnt even in eu. Dont get me startet with creese, we all know that story, and old russian countrys are the same. They all bluff us on their state of economy, just like turkey.
Only good economy country who have join eu, is estonia. When estonian labor comes to finland to work, he wont pay taxes to finland, but if his wife give birth, finland will pay her same money that finnish women would have plus a socialcare, even if she doesent live in finland. So all in all, we lose a huge pile of money every year out from finland and taxe revenue isnt rising. In 8 years our administration costs have increase 163%, but thats fine acording to out politicians.

I cant pointout more wrongs at this state of mind... but believe me, there may bi some more.

I woted out

If something does not work you have two options - fix it or throw it away.

Anyone who says we will come up with the short end of the stick by leaving are simply wrong according to Brexit campaigners.  They don’t have any real answers - just confidence that they are right.   Countries like Switzerland pay for associate membership of the EU - exactly the sort of arrangement Brexiteers keep telling us will be ours for free. We buy so many BMW’s the EU will apparently be falling over themselves to give away the access every other non-member pays for, having to comply with the contentious EU rules on free movement etc that (apparently) won’t apply to us because we are…special.

The arrogance of this assumption is so overwhelming only the delusional political class could believe it.  For people further down the heap - the ones who probably aren’t buying a new BMW - it should probably be a warning - That wish list is built on our democratically elected representative’s understanding of the world THEY live in…not the bit most of their voters scrape by in.

Brexit now reportedly sees itself as a government in waiting.  Did you elect them?  No you didn’t but under the rules of the Westminster game, (which is what the big guns are really playing) that hardly matters.  Tory politicians salivating at the prospect of personal advancement following a Brexit vote is pretty unedifying and the deafening silence from Her Majesty’s opposition, until the eleventh hour, smacks of an eight stone weakling watching two bullies slugging it out, pleased it is not them getting hammered for once.  Not exactly an attractive alternative in any direction is there.

The prospect of a government composed of arrogant wishful thinkers, happy to perpetuate any convenient lie that shores up their opinion and masks their thin grasp of how people on less than £100K will be affected, is just as worrying as the prospect of a stampede of outbound investment (US, Chinese etc) once we resign from Europe - to teach THEM a lesson.

If Europe is not working, I am left to wonder why we are not telling those that represent us to fix it rather than throw it away and hope we don’t need it. Does that usually work well with a rotary?  By the way - My day rate has not gone up appreciably for ten years either and I am not competing with Polish immigrants…Who (apart from myself LOL)  should I blame for that? Europe…obviously.

I think our national IQ has dropped several points in the last few weeks while we have been treated to a banquet of jingoistic nonsense, half truths and lies - the only option being an initially smug, watery soup of continuity garnished with hand wringing concern for those all-important (at election time) ‘little people.”

I despair at how easy it apparently is to lead the British electorate by the nose if you smile raffishly for the camera, tell a few jokes and shout loud or long enough - even if you don’t actually say anything based on fact or that makes any real sense.

Well you did ask....

Lately I have been reading lots of stuff about London´s new mayor... Seems like he is, umm, interesting person ;)

Just read about that MP who was shot and stabbed to death. Sorry to say that those kind of things shows how fed up people are...
Media is claiming that he shouted "britania first". Alternative media says that eye witness did not hear him shout that. Propaganda or not...

When we got to EU, every one told us that stuff would be cheaper. Like new cars and so on. What a big pile if bulls**t...

Well, ideally EU kind state system could work. But only if every country has possibility to speak for it self. Now, few person is telling what to do. This EU is so far gone wrong allready that it can not be fixed...

My brother basically summed up our situation here. And those same things you have there too...

You know every one allways says that UK is expensive country. Actually not compared to our prices. Well, smokes are frickin expensive there ;)

There are a few facts and the rest is bluster from both sides of campaign...

1. We pay in 19bn and economists tell us we can identitfy 8bn that comes back, from grants to scientists, grants for the enviroment, grants for the siemens windfarm etc...so there is an 11bn deficit.....
cant our politicians continue those grants and carry on funding projects here in the uk? i think ss.
2. Tariff free trade, they sell us more than the we sell them, someone with balls needs todo serious negiotations. The remain camp scare us that no ones going to buy are products....i think Brussels should be more concerned that without a decent deal no Brit will by buying Bemmers and prob if prices rise due to Imposed tarifs we might actually buy a car from a British car plant? A buy British Campaign shortly after leaving would be a great idea.
3. Free movement of people will cease. This is a massive headache but if your in work as european migrant then use the Oz system with working visa and the right to citizenship after a qualifying period. No more flooding of unskilled labour doing the cheapest job cheaper.

It seems to me where paying Brussel 11bn for our policticians to outsource there actual work.

It seems to me that the Eu project is to make everybody equal and balance the wealth....but its not working un accounted Billions getting lost in the corridors of Brussels.

all animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others...George Orwell.

I dont think it cant be fixed its way past that far too many snouts in the trough and too big and beaucratic.

I really hope we leave i planned for it, i fixed my mortgage for 10 years ;D

If we dont get out and France that is calling for its own Referendum and DO leave we are royally shafted, we are flogging a dieing greedy fat horse.
1 other point
Who has his eye on Junckers job.....Blair ffs! Im off to Oz if that $%^£ gets to be Eu president.

I am glad to switch from British/Canadian to Canadian/British the option for me in both counts would be to LEAVE> ;) and yes I retired at 54 yes I do Not pay tax on savings, 2 pensions, and I have paid my dues with service in the MOD/CDE (Porton.Down)  39 years of tax credits for my old age pension and if its available when i get to claim it claim it I will... So the country is f*** and it can only get worse while we have spineless politicians at the moment they have the majority of the work done for them by the EU thats why they want us to stay IN if we come out they will have to get off there lard arses and do some proper work for there 70k year.  sorry Rant over.... Maybe somebody here can confirm or deny this one.

Until the sad murder took place yesterday all I kept hearing from the public on the news was "immigration".

So am I correct in saying that I am sure I remember that in one of the last EU sittings by Cameron, he got an agreement for the restriction of immigration which is something no other EU country has in place.

If this is factually correct this should have been put over much more strongly to the general public.

With that said though, what was starting to come out though was that we had more Non EU immigrants than EU ones, so would coming out actually make any difference, because even out  work permits would still be allocated to people from the EU as well, all this would surely mean immigration would probably remain very much the same , yes ?.

I also read and am told that whist Norway is not in the EU many decisions are made that still have the same influence on their country anyway  !

The above is not meant to sound like apathy, but to me all of this is all probably 30 years to late, because back then there just may have been a chance to stem all these at times bizarre decisions that have come out of Europe, in or out the horse has long bolted and so in or out, the gee gee  has galloped a long way away.

Title: Re: Come on then, in or out of Europe
Post by: jinx on June 18, 2016, 10:30:36 AM
I must stop rising to this bait. My last word on bolted horses…   :D
Change does not stop. The EU has, can and will go on evolving, with or without us.  Beneficial change would take a generation of UK politicians who can look further into the future than the next 140 characters to get engaged. This makes the real problem the quality of domestic governments. Despite the predictable lip service and the undoubted good intentions of many elected members, we seem to return leaders who don’t believe in much beyond the spreadsheet’s bottom line and being, or staying, in charge. That is possibly why they get so passionate about their ideas or intentions being thwarted - be it by Europe…or our very own House of Lords.

Incidentally, for all the allegations about Remain's reliance on fear tactics - it is Brexit who has been telling people the country is being submerged in a sea of immigrant labour.  For the most part (Unless you live in Lincolnshire?) immigration is a convenient hot button to press to promote a public panic.  Is it right to pay EU workers lower rates and use this to keep wages down across the board? Of course not but can we not blame 'them' for doing it to 'us'. It is UK business writing those cheques, cutting its costs to preserve profits, dividends and directorial benefits - with UK government providing the latitude for them to do it.  The logical extension of this ‘shareholder value’ mindset is Valeant Pharmaceuticals, a peculiarly ugly result but in a world enslaved by stock prices and spreadsheet soothsayers...?

In other news…When we leave the EU we will be just another foreign country...customs clearance, forms and paperwork, import duty, passport control etc etc.  If we want free trade without the political element, realistically we will currently have to pay the same price for it all the other associates do - that means free movement of people…which, if Brexit can be believed, is not on the table.  Yes, they do sell us more than we sell them but reportedly, we sell Ireland more than we sell to the rest of the Commonwealth combined, making buoyant predictions about future trade beyond Europe seem a mite rose-tinted.  It is hard to believe Ireland and all those Mediterranean economies in the grip of massive austerity (never mind the French, Germans etc) would see why they should cut Boris a better deal than anybody else gets, while the UK insists on only playing the game its own way, ignoring the rules that do not suit.  Like the SNP's independence campaign before it, Brexit thinks it can cherry pick the bits that are convenient and leave the rest on the side of the plate. In what sphere of your life does that work? (Apart from with cherries) Politicians are encouraging us to embrace the concept of 'rights' but not 'responsibilities' but perhaps, if your horizon is only 140 characters distant, that probably makes perfect sense and undoubtedly flatters your personal objectives.

Hmm, just read from local newspaper that britania is sixth biggest export country to us. With only 5,2% total from all of our export. Dunno if thats true, seems abit small figute to me...

Anyhow, if you leave EU, and we lose that 5,2%, I cant see big problem there. Dont see how would that affect our economy...

However, I was told that mostly UK has same agendas and ideas about laws, that our coverment has. So then we would lose big supporter. Then again, our politics are morons so wont see any bad thing in that either :)

Baddest thing for us would basically be that we would have to pay more for EU if UK leaves...

I dont know whats going to happen, I'm quessing that you are "forced" to stay in...

And that actually makes me sad, I really wish that EU will fall. Just because of our situation here, not yours :) Cheap labor force and those really stupid laws are really affecting our economy...

For example Clive, think about your business...? And Jon, how about you...? Btw, I have now idea what you do? :) Tony, Jonathan?

For example Clive, think about your business...?

As I indicated above this vote is so different from just voting our own government in or out .

From my point of view as regards business, i am scared stiff we will come out / Reason /

Racingbeat, Good-win-Racing & Racingbrake all send their European enquires for us to deal with because they know we can give any EU country a delivered price,

If we come out and the boarders go up I am sure it will hurt us because our EU customers will not know a delivered price as the parts will get stopped and customs duty etc will be applied from their respective country.

Lisa asked me what my personal view is /

"If" it is correct that Norway is still heavily influenced and affected even though they are not in the EU then this is my view/

If we are not in the room to argue our point of view and standing out side then we have no say in anything anymore!

You know, I have never had a political bone in my body------till now, but like I said this is different, OK if we leave it may take ten years to collapse and get every thing back in place but many many company's who sell to the EU may be abandoned by its customers and be hurt badly, I just hope we survive.

As I have said to many, I believe the general public is not interested in business, free markets etc and I still believe the general population will vote us out, regardless of how I think.

Now then, where's that horse that ran away all those years ago  ;)

Yes, yesterday I thought that too from your point of view. And I agree with your comments above. And I can see your fear in that. And yes, it would hurt customers alot...

But yes, I think that general public will vote with their hearts, not with their minds. However, I do not think that effects would be as big as you said. UK still would be big market for EU and Europe, import and export. No country affords to lose UKs influence on markets.

Besides, if US and EU is threatening UK with somekind of trade embargo, that is just bullshit. Think about this, Russia has some kind of embargo at the moment. Still KFCs is opening 300 stores to there! :D

Btw, I dont understand Norways influens in EU mathers either :)

From my point of view:
-I have been working in local hardware store for a five years. Things dont effect much to me at this point. But EU has allready made an effect on shops, business and retail stores allready. Open times, wages and so on. However, from my bosses view cheaper labor is good for business, for example cleaning staff.

-I used to be construction worked. There influence of cheap work force was catastrophical. Laborers from estonia, poland russia and so on. Basically cost was massive amounts of unemployed finnish workers.

-But if I want to move to UK and work there(and believe me Im really considering that), then EU is actually is good thing. Moving, taxes and so on...

Like i said at the beginning you need to look at your personal situation and get the info to make your own personal decisions how effects you and your family.
My company buys its raw product from asia in dollars and sells to uk supermarkets so apart from the pound versus dollar europe does not effect my work.
Things is eu is not just about work though its as far ranging as potholes in the road because local gov have no money, 3 weeks to get a doctors appointment to dead refugees washing up on beaches. We normal people have not created this mess.
Would you vote into eu in its current situation.
I fully understand Clives situation its the same as my neighbours US company.
I work in a factory where im pretty much now a minority so would be easier to replace me with a foriegn cheaper engineer ?

1 thing Clive you may have not thought about. EU have been planning shake up of our current mot rules and car modifications which effectively mean that any car cannot have any performance parts fitted to it unless from the factory. It got knocked back but shows an intent from Brussels ( or Strassborg depending where the circus is) that they want to regulate our car modifying industry....thankfully at the moment there is more choice than the colour grey ! But longterm who knows.

A subjective view based on my circumstances - but one that has the potential to be felt by many:

I’m in the airline industry and for me there are just too many risks if we were to leave.  Big issues will be losing the automatic right to be part of EU Open Skies (which effectively allows EU airlines to operate between any EU countries) and the inevitable knock-on that will have on UK airlines as well as those EU (but non-UK) airlines with bases in the UK (like Ryanair).  There is also the likelihood of increased costs due to a weaker Pound.  The combined result could well be an increase in fares, cutbacks on some routes and a loss of jobs in the sector.  Easyjet and Virgin have already implied they have contingencies in place to move some of their operations outside of the UK should we vote for a Brexit.

Interestingly Norway has negotiated itself membership of EU Open Skies, but has to abide by EU aviation law as well as lot of EU legislation in order to qualify, all of which comes at a cost.  Yet it is has no influence over EU policy itself.  All the while we are in the EU we at least have the ability to influence decisions - if we leave we lose that.

Business aside - food for thought and one that affects us all, should the Pound significantly weaken against the US Dollar, bear in mind the effect that will have sooner or later on petrol prices â€" an RX7 is expensive enough to run now!

Cheers

Im moving to Rotorland. Super unleaded is free. No speedlimits and you get a free rebuild every year if your a good boy. Its a massive triangle shaped island with grade A  tarmac stretching for miles and miles with a force field round it. Politicians are vapourised if they come anywhere near it. Thats enough from me on the eu. I cant do anything about it except my 1 vote....what will be will be. Aint worth the bloodpressure.

Aye, let us leave this unholy place, and go to happy place... :) to rotorland, my brothers!

Also there is free smokes and beer for everyone. Internet is full of fussy kittens and funny parrots, no porn or stupid banners. Wifes are Pamela Anderson look alikes and children allways behaves good. Rozzers drive brappers too and give you tickets (checks), how cool your ride is. Food is always pizza and candy. There is now winter or bad weather. Everyone speaks finnish and understands our humor, culture and mentality. There is no sweden or norway(sorry neighbors, I had to;)...

Wow! Well, could agree more :)

As I said, and she said, you have the change to stop this madness...

Cause our politicians wont leave EU, so we have to wait that it will fall. I truly believe that if UK leaves EU, that will start a downhill for it. I´m not sure will EU keep evolving without UK, maybe. One thing is for sure, things will have to change just because one of the worlds largest economy leaves...

Lately I have been reading lots of comments, arguments and so on, in facebook. Lots of interesting facts what normal people see and politicians apparently dont...

But now, when I´m writing this, I realized something. If Uk leaves, it could start new kind of immigration flow to UK. Actually, I read that its allready happening to some countrys. Eu citizens are moving to "EU free" countrys and countrys without ridicilous EU immigration politics... And I can understand that, allways humans have wanted to move to better place, I know I would...

That damp squib has put 1m GBP of projects on hold for me this week so not a particularly damp squib from my perspective, seems to have done a very good job a setting off the charge!

What I don't understand is Osborne's reluctance to hit the button on tax increases and inflation cuts, why wait to start generating the revenue needed to shore up the books?  Regardless of when anything happens the sooner you start getting money into the pot the sooner you can start being tactical about spending to fix things up.

Right now they are busy with the big stuff - making sure Boris gets enough votes to become your leader and his sidekick gets to be your Chancellor. They have no time to deal with anything else.  Westminster thinks it is more important than the chaos it creates.  Be nice to think there would be some sort of opposition but guess what...they're at it too.

Oh to be in England....with its downgraded credit rating, limping currency, lame duck prime minister and a future woven out of empty promises and half truths.  Welcome to the 'the people's choice' meltdown which will last...as long as it lasts. That won't be Boris' call because the rest of the world can count past the number 10.  Never mind, he said a European free trade deal would be a shoe-in so that must be true...right? ???

Feeling the effects already, and so it begins.

Today we were informed that we need to put the price  up 10% on Hawk pads due to the £ to $ exchange rate!

How long before fuel goes up then food in the supermarkets etc because of transportation due to the pound becoming no more than funny money  :(

I was told a story from a boss of a parts warehouse who like us has been quiet for two weeks, of how his floor staff jumped for joy wearing union jacks,

Like he said, will they still be jumping for joy when he starts laying them off!

Today its felt like the UK has committed the equivalent of Hari Kari , or is it just me  ???

You know, I have enjoyed this conversation, even though I dont give a crap about politics. But in this case your choices affects us too directly.

Im actually quite narrow minded. This open conversation with both sides giving their opinion and thoughts really makes you think about all that stuff...

I dont fully understand all that you are saying but I am trying to keep up with you :)

But as I said before, to me it seems that democracy is dead. You should be thankful that your politics did give you a change to choose, no matter what. And if they really respect peoples opinion, well thats actually quite unheard off...

Ofcourse parting out EU isnt simple task, and Im sure that you have probably two years of fighting before you...

But democracy isnt a thing that some old german woman is ordering all europe what to do! Doesn't that remind you some bloke called Adolf... And now Merkel is threatening others if they are thinking to leave EU, that is just ridiculous. I really really wish that she and all the others will have to face consequences someday and will be brought to justice. Cause basically they have destroyed europe, without open war...

One thing that really pisses me of in this hole EU thing is that those who decides all that crap in EU, we didnt vote them there! And we cannot vote them out either. They are there just because "friend" system. Friends choose them to get that position. And that really shows corruption in this system, and that is not a real democracy...

Just following up on Clive's post on Tuesday, fuel went up here on Monday.   No doubt that will find its way through to the transport companies.   Likewise with the weaker Pound commodities from a Euro country are likely to go up by around 10% assuming things stay as they are now.  I've already seen our first cost increases on contracts we have with EU airlines where we have to pay in Euro's.

I'm ever hopeful that as markets settle down the Pound will strengthen a little more but I'm certainly not counting my chickens!

So Clive.....it's not just you!

Well, the Pound hit a 2 year low against the Euro today and the Dollar something like a 30 year low - and its hurting.

And where are the leaders of the exit campaign exactly?  A rhetorical question of course...Boris has lost the courage of his convictions and is now demanding the government sort out the mess he was largely responsible for and the other has achieved his goal!  Not a fan of Juncker but he about summed up the Brexit "leaders" as leaving a sinking ship.  What a mess!

If you don't agree with the people who voted out - don't blame anyone but the remain camp politicians.

Both sides had weeks to put their case and if the remain camp couldn't provide enough logic to convince the general public
remaining in was in the best interest of the UK then this is what happens.

All we had was propaganda from known liars anyway.

I think the whole process just confirmed how totally out of touch Westminster is.

If nothing else they won't underestimate the power of the people or take it for granted any time soon.

I think the instances of things going up already are more down to our countries politicians, on all sides, falling apart.

I don't have any time for any of them but we need someone to grasp the situation, stand up and say OK this is it lets sort it out.

Trouble is I can't see anyone out there capable.

Ok, few months have passed, I was thinking to ask your thoughts now? :)

Today I heard from radio that pound hitted new low point. Weird cause few weeks ago I read from somewhere that it is raising fast finally. Well, dont know, I dont believe in our media anyways... ;)

And to media topic; today was bad day for our justice, alternative media and freedom of speech. Court ordered one our leading alternative media member to be arrested. Charges was rasism, spreading out false info and news, corruption. Yeah, right! Our "real" media have been caught spreading lies several times in last few months. Starting to feel like I´m living in frikin´ new North Korea, propaganda and lies everywhere...  :(

Then I heard that Angela Merkel is laying down rules for and to UK! She said that UK has to obey EU´s laws in immigration or UK will be suffering kind of embargo. So, WTF! She is forcing laws that got UK to get out of EU in a first place! Is she nuts?

Finally, I really blew head gasget when I heard that our member of parliament, is having a sick leave, again. He is single dad and says that he is just too exhausted. Funny thing is that he was a months leave just a few moths ago. And this will be his 3rd time in a year. Liars and lazy bastards everywhere in that building!

Any place where you can buy 100 and 1000 pack of beer has my vote

(Yes I know the 1000 pack was an April fool)

It's just a shame that it's crap beer (Prefer Karhu myself)

Yep, Karhu (bear) beer is the best!
