Title: Tegiwa Brake Stopper Installation Question
Post by: SW7 on May 25, 2016, 02:50:32 PM
Hi,

Does anyone have any instructions for the Tegiwa Brake Stopper?

One piece is obvious the second is not.

Cheers

Hi mate....its a piece of poo! I took literally 3 hrs to get it to fit yesterday....i had to re bend the bends in order to get it to actually sit inline with the end of the mc. There is a threaded hole on inner wing and a stud on strut side....i have emailed Tegiwa and told him it is very poor fit and they are looking into it. Guy at Tegiwa said he has just got an fd and will attempt to fit to his.

HI Guys,

Funny reading your reply, I worked out where it should go and it also doesnt fit, they havent bent the bar in the right place and rebending it isnt easy.

Ive bought some new bar and am going to make up another piece to try and fit it.

Pretty bad that it doesnt fit though.

I've booked a track day at castle combe on Friday 3rd so busy making lots of changes to improve braking feel and brake cooling, also get some aero parts painted and installed.

The day on the 3rd I booked through Castle Combe direct on the website below.

Also Trackdays.co.uk run events at Castle Combe which arent on the Castle Combe Website, they also cover alot of other track and airfield events.

They also cover a track in Belgium.

https://www.trackdays.co.uk/tracks/castle-combe/

https://castlecombecircuit.co.uk/car-track-days//?slug=trackdays

Send me a message if you book any.

Am now trying to decide on turbo blankets and downpipe blankets, my engine bay gets way to hot, some good ideas on demon Tweeks.

http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/heat-shielding-protection/cool-it-pipe-heat-shields

For the downpipe.

Pls report the poor fitting to Tegiwa mate as i have as youll back me up and hopefully they pull from ebay before some other poor soul gets back ache trying to get the thing to fit....mine does now but took it on off about 30 times to get the rebend spot on.

Regards turbo heat a hotside cove will not harm the the turbo and wrapping downpipe will reduce radiated heat. On the move the fishgill bonnet with evacuate the under bonnet heat...the downside will be when parked up after use....ok at track as can lift bonnet but coming home prob cool down last mile after boost...and maybe the bonnet has some heat reflective material on the underside ....? Being concept 7 i expect the bonnet is superbly made...

I have contacted Tegiwa, they are investigating, they said they have just bought an rx7 so will find out why it doesn't fit and rectify the problem.

I'm going to make my own stabilizer bracket.

On the cooling I'm getting the whifbit turbo blanket and also a 6 inch wide blanket for the down pipe which will go over the top and let the heat dissipate out and away from the bottom. Am also making up heat shielding above the turbo and downpipe to isolate them from the brake servo, intake and hood.

Hope is to reduce hot air to the intake and reduce the direct heat to the intake manifold and brake servo.

I'm also lining the underside of the hood with gold reflective tape, should look nice  :P

I also wrapped some exhaust wrap around the drivers side engine mount as the last 1 was badly melted when i changed them.
