Hello people, I guess I should have started this one earlier since its now MOT'ED but never mind lol.
So it passed its MOT on Wednesday but I still have jobs to do to make her spot on and I also want to slowly get it modded up.
So firstly I need so help on rear bushes, I have play in both of these I have circled
(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160401/8e9705062d1e3a9bbbffa8eac84569ab.jpg)(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160401/4a31b3999137c667d220c65653e06e43.jpg)
I can't work out which one of these it is, if so somebody could help me out as I would love to replace with a full set but funds won't allow at the Moment.
On a plus side these turned up today
(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160401/6e6e01bae0b5e35773e2b43ada295882.jpg)
So I am in the garage to see if they are an improvement on the candle power old blubs lol
Well that's one in looks good me thinks just incase anybody is wondering it's a cree led h4 headlight blub what ya think?(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160401/3c4128d0ac26b6459a5e8981cd930f2a.jpg)(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160401/d5588ef6d6cb87cd4ded77c5f7d81022.jpg)(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160401/1085e63fb919fbf66952621070b8ad76.jpg)
Just as modern looking as HIDS but without the mess on me thinks
Well that stopped me on that job for tonight the headlight cover screws on front of the other headlight are rusted solid some wd40 over night and fingers crossed for tomorrow
Wow leds h4s look good.
Both your worn bushes are the pillowball type not available in polybush form as rosejoint type.
The top 1 are what i had to replace on mine...
Due to there nature of the design there quite expensive. Circa £60 each. I got my 2 from Clive at MRP. You need 4 ! Like i said Clive had to order them in so i found a pair of used top wishbones on ebay which i have not used ...there back on ebay! Lower track control arm again PBs again ebay 2nd hand or Clive...in my build is a couple of photos showing how you change them.
So the wishbones you have matey that will save me on buying 4 bushes? If so just drop me a message for what you want for them and i will have them. I will see what I can find lower track control arm wise too cheers man
It will only save you from buying the top 2....there on ebay £80. With best offer...i only paid £50.00 so thats what id let em go for. Also i got the yellow stuff pads cost me £66. But theyve bern in carrier ill let them go for £50.00..as well...there a track pad with fair amount of dust...after 5 years off road you really need to be changing front n rear pads...mine had loads of meat but on removal friction material fell off back plate !
Let me know what you want...the bushes on the wishbones are all good.
What's the item number buddy I will have the wishbones. The pads I might get once I have the Other little bits sorted they are on my to do list lol
Dont worry about ebay. Theres yours
Nice one buddy thank you!!!
Im at Castle Combe ill sort it later ....and get em out to you monday morning.
No bother, and thank you again buddy enjoy matey
Sent you pm mate.
Yep checked paypal all good and got delivery address ill send em monday! 8)
How was the track today? What were you using?
All good been itching to get on track....in my rx8 engine westfield...its old and live axled so a bit of a handful lol....little vid in cosmo and other rotary powered vehicles...title is Westory Progress...bit of a long build thread....been a roller coaster ride.
Nice one will have a read buddy
Well that's both headlights done (http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160402/8a155c377b11033191f846bdf83df191.jpg)
Not without hassle tho snapped a clip on the headlight cover lol and getting the buggers to sit just right so their flush with wing/bumper and bonnet when down is a pain lots of bonnet up lights adjust light cover lights down bonnet down and do it again lol
Also replace number plate lights with white led ones and the interior lights and glove box ones replaced with ice blue leds(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160402/d9cddf0e48639a74d09595cd5f943a5b.jpg)
Might change these for white leds yet like
Im going order some cree h4 todays...ive got 1 light nice n flush the other needs more work if i change the lamps ill have 2 that need fettling. Whats the light output up the road like?
Not sure yet, only had them on in the garage but pointing at the garage door the blub pattern seems to still be there
Cool i was more interested in light output...i know there whiter but actually physically brighter?
Yeah they seem a lot better but ain't been out yet and with the led side lights they make the front end look far more modern at night but not cheesy which is a fine balance
Sent this morning Royal Mail.
Thanks again good sir
Well a quick clean down of the engine tonight (nothing removed and cleaned properly yet but it's starting to look canny under there
this is the other week when sorting the mis-fire

Now(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160404/4832ea5074efb2649d24fa49f1869eab.jpg)
You bringing it to Japfest or Japday....go on you no you want to.
Just been looking there Jon there like the other end of the world to me lol not sure it would make it there and back yet lol.
No but have spoken to the wife tho and it could be a possibility to get to one of them
Both should be good shows ....getting to the show is all part of the experience with a rorary....im in the same boat with getting to Silverstone....all paid up but car not ready yet lol.
Anybody ever bought any CORP stuff? Was looking at there radiator silicone hoses etc on ebay (very nearly clicked buy) and noticed they do a full front mount and pipe kit for the FD as well. I know it's never going to be as good as the named stuff but budget won't cover all the mods I want at the mo lol so something has to give and be upgraded later
So how far away from the shows are you Jon? It's 4hrs ish for me so would have to set off 5 ish or stop over night defo want to get to some of the show and meet you guys in person
Castle combe 30 mins :P
Silverstone... i think about 2.5 hours. :'(
30 mins is not bad that's about the same as Croft is for me
Well been out for a blast in her today the bloody rev clock and speedo stopped working grrrrr and the revs were up and down while in gear at traffic lights but as soon as I dropped it into neutral the revs settled ? Is this what you had with the clutch switch Boosted?
Mine was different mate...i was dieing at junctions when putting the clutch in.
The clutch swith is on the end of the pedal and when you put the clutch in it lets the plunger out and switches....brings up the revs 100 to 150 rpm. Sounds like your throttle stop is wound in to far...warm in neutral with clutch out aim for about 950rpm...if you wind in to far it will start to hunt as your cracking the throttle butterflys open and the idle air control valve then fights that by trying to control throttle by opening and shutting....hence the hunting. You want a tiny bit of slack on the throttle cable as well. I wouldnt mess with the throttle position sensor until checked everything else it looks a pita to set up. It in the technical manual.
Dash yeah pain in arse...ive just swapped mine...theres some tiny 3mm screws on back...they work loose...i tightened them up b4 swapping over seems ok atmo. But the fact youve lost mph as well as rpm ...ib be looking at an earth or power first. Good luck.
Cheers buddy I hopefully will get on it tonight fingers crossed
the technical manuals are on here and all over the web....good idea to print them off into a lever arch folder....the section on the thottle body is great explains all the bolt on bits and pieces and how its needs to be set up.
Bought one off eBay lol last week turned up yesterday so think I was robbed if it's online for free never mind
I put links on here ages ago ...ill find later when on laptop. Factory service manuals for everything.
Cool mate cheers
Well the parts from Boosted are here Thank you very much buddy!!(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160406/768609f2eca30db82e6f300655ef0c79.jpg)
Sorry about the recycling...i was trying to beef up the box so they didnt slide about so raided the recycling box.
Lol thought I was in luck with a couple of beers when i opened it lol
sorry forgot and then couldnt find on here....loads here on this link.

Well I was sorting the Coolant issue last night and it seems when I put the pipes back on and reconnected the battery my rev and speedo have come back to life, not really sure what is going on there but I aint going to complain will have a look at the connections on the back of the clocks when I wire up the boost gauge.
On that note has anybody got any advice on the easiest way to route it from the engine bay? looks easy enough and I think I am going to pillar mount it.
Nipple on the uim is best place. Should be a capped 1 there...pass through on drivers side...ill take a photo later as having a mopping session and engine covered with a sheet...wish i hadnt started this...lol. car is covered in white dust.

On the drivers wing is an aperture through to the cabin...boost hose should go through there.

heres the bolt in question....you have to follow a specific technical procedure.
get car nice n high fully supported.
crawl under car.
align your head under bolt.
undue bolt and allow all the coolant and crud to wash over your head.
this a atried a tested offering of obedience to the rotor god.
he will favour your apex seals for 60 thousands miles.
lol. ;D
hopefully your sump seal does not look like mine!!!!..thats not oil but "wellseal"....horrible stuff that like pine tree sap but it seems impervious to oil and as i dont really want to drop my subframe todo the sump seal im giving it a whirl.
Just a quick one I am trying to remove the clocks as they are working not working etc I have the bottom cover off with the air vent in and have removed the two screws I can see I know there is more just not sure where lol

The red rocket lights up when switched only when lights are on me thinks is for the rear fog I don't have lol might have a look later see if I can find something at the rear for fog light

That's rocker not rocket lol

Well I finally got the spare time and fitted my new boost gauge just need to tidy away wires

Also fitted some new clear front bumper reflectors didn't really want crystal one's would have preferred just clear but they are still an improvement on the Orange ones(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160506/2cbde52e1741e385dc3bdde9301eeaa7.jpg)

Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Hi Dax...wondering what you did different to me regarding your dash...mine has gone all screwy again lol....in particular anything that you resoldered....all my connections are good and board corrosion gone.
Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
Hi Jon, not sure to be honest, stripped the clocks down cleaned all plugs and connections and any points of solder, I cleaned along all the tracks on the plastic circuits and removed all screws on the circuit board and cleaned their contact points and flattened out the plastic circuit as best I could that's about as much as I can remember doing. Funny thing is as soon as I flicked the reds on the digital bit lit up as it should showing mileage and I was thinking great I have sorted that at least anyway started her up rev clock works as it should and speedo working fine but the bloody digital display was lit again with no bloody numbers lol not sure what's going on with that like? But the rest is working as it should not sure if that's much help
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

Jon you won't believe this mate just finished putting all the dash plastics back on so took the car for a blast everything great after about half an hour I pulled in to get fuel started her back up and rev clock has stopped working again lol on the drive home it was coming back on then off randomly!!! The the speedo had a moment for a couple of miles lol I tell ya what this bloody car!!!
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
I feel your pain buddy...doubt mine will last long.
Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
There is one good thing the Boost gauge I wired in at the same time works great tho lol
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
So everything working apart from rpm gauge....if you remove again and remove the needle and clock face you will see some screws that allow you to remove the board to get to the back of it ...this allow you to clean this side. . In addition i found that at the exact sweet spot for rpm accuracy my rpm gauge would flicker suggesting the variable pot was worn in this location...i tweaked abit clockwise which means its over reading but works...
Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
Cool mate cheers will take back apart at the weekend and have a go tell ya what I don't think I would have mind so much but the fact it gave me hope lol the car is just playing with me lol
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Final thing though...just remember to check that low coolant buzzer still functioning once all back in.
Ah he'll I forgot about that yep will do buddy thanks for the reminder
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Well there you go drove the bugger home from work and all clocks working again as they should! As I said before the bugger is just playing with me
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Well had the clocks out again stripped right down and cleaned again cleaned all connections again but tested got right into the plugs and back together and guess what (going to regret saying this but) everything working as it should even the the digital mile thingy Boom!!
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Almost forgot I have managed to get a XS power SMIC so looking forward to it turning up and cleaning it up and getting it fitted!!!! Should have asked this before I bought it like but how do you guys rate them?
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
They not the best tbh daz, the intercooler is fine the problem is getting it ducted correctly. Just standing it up like many did seemed up actually working against them.
Ah right so I will need to try and get some ducting to it or maybe just sell the bugger on and get a different one then lol I really should have asked first but it was within budget and it was a SMIC I wanted lol guess I can only try it.
Any advice on the ducting best place to route from etc
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Some have made some using thin ally plate, or if possible could it be mounted in fmic or vmic position. The oem ducting works for some smics just not this one iirc
Ah right I will have to see when it turns up, might even put off till winter and maybe look at v mounting it if possible. Guess you get what you pay for lol
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Do it right do it once....radtec have a nice v mount ic and rad set up for a grand...includes all fans silicone joiners etc....when you add it up its a good price for a fit n forget solution.....i expect that xs has been handed around abit.
Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
I know what you mean Jon just budget is tight for the next couple of months and it was cheapish hence the buy but I might be regretting it now lol we will see what i can do with it when it turns up! Might look nice hanging on the wall in the garage ha ha
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Just enjoy the car as is....modifying is like a drug....lol.
My dash seems to be behaving now....rpm is a little over but i know when to shift now.
Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
Ah nice one, mine has been good all weekend not once has the clocks gone off. As for modifying I know I have a 3in hks downpipe coming this week too can't stop looking for things to spend the money I don't have on lol
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Well I have just bought myself an Apexi Pfc and Commander there so with that the intercooler and Downpupe that's me spent up for the next few months lol next on list tho will be decat and a map!
Should the base map make a big difference to the performance of the car over the stock ecu? And does the downpipe make a noticeable difference even without a map and does it change the noise and sound of the car much if at all?
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
The base map is literally a get it running, drive OFF boost to tuner to get mapped.
Look what turned up today!!!! Have a small problem getting the plug out of old ecu tho grrrrr!(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160531/431818427672c548f84df8d82478c527.jpg)
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Well its in (http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160531/afda865199db3e5ad554ae71dcfdfe87.jpg)
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Well I haven't updated this for a week or two so thought I would do a little catch up
I got the Apexi fitted and reset it and followed instructions of setup.
10 mins idle,
then 10 mins idle with rear screen on,
then 10 mins idle with fans on max,
all settled as it should but when I pulled it out the garage and stopped on idle the revs are up and down for about 30 secs then settle again drive it then pull up to traffic lights same again this keeps happening so tried the setup again and same thing happens grrrrr any advice? Should I adjust the idle screw on the throttle body? Only thing is on stock ECU it idled fine could it be the idle control valve?
That aside I had been having an issue on full boost with second turbo would start to boost then almost instantly lose that extra pull of the 2nd turbo and make a screaming noise so been hunting for the issue and found it (http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160615/95c8f08ff9cdb234c4693733de8af091.jpg)
Down in there lol(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160615/35d95cdc9dbea832ee80c1eb32b301c7.jpg)
A soft air intake hose
(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160615/dbcdc3f2c6f040c9209d97e68a5d38f7.jpg)
The pipe is also slightly bent so it was harder to see but the pinch test shows how bad it was any swapped out and boost returned to the second turbo.
So if I can get the idle right all will be good in the world once again lol
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Oh one other thing what sort of running temps should I see from the car with normal driving (now I can see a figure on the commander I wanted to be sure all is good) also what other figures do you recommend I keep an eye and what should they average?
I am finding the commander is great but it also makes you look all the time and think shit is that normal lol
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Lol commander is the doom display...
Temp should be in region 82 to 90 deg ideally. On track saw 91deg .
Handy function is the sensor check. Clutch switch, brake lights o2 sensor etc. My idle is sweet now. Your on the base map idle ....once mapped should be better.
How does your rpm gauge compare to commander....?
Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
They seem to be in sync matey why is yours off?
I can't wait to get it mapped up as got the Downpipe and IC sitting there ready to go on and will be getting a decat to finish it off but money has dried up for the next few months as her indoors has booked the family holiday lol
The big question is who should I get to map the bugger lol
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
And Doom display lol
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Cool mine is slightly over must be a dead spot on the pot....as goes screwy when i tweaked it back. Happy its over...i change gear at indicated 8500rpm which is 7200 rpm on apexi.
Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
Just ride with the idle for a couple of days my experience is it takes a few days for the pfc idle to settle. If you ever disconnect your battery it will do it again for a day or two so buy a ctek battery charger
Sent from my D5833 using Tapatalk
Also I noticed you have a crv ( brown) in the place of the bov ( black). Not a problem as such but they have different release rates. I have a spare black one if you want it.
Sent from my D5833 using Tapatalk
Cheers Neil will run it then hopefully it will settle it's self down then and yeah mate I will take the BOV if it's spare, not sure why tho lol what difference will it make? Excuse my lack of knowledge lol
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
So quick question I do have a black one (bov) if you look further up the pipework in the pic so do I need to swap them around ? As they have different spring as if what I am reading is right but can't seem to get an exact answer on which way round they sould be. Can someone have a look and confirm there setup, and thanks Neil for the heads up!!
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
My crv ( brown) is nearest the bulkhead and black nearest the front of the car
Sent from my D5833 using Tapatalk
Neil I was looking at the car this morning and I am not sure where I was looking both are brown, so if you have that spare black one and you are willing to park with it let me know your price and I will come and collect or I can give you my address and you could post it, and thank you again for pointing it out do you know what difference it will make if much at all ?
You can have it pal I'll just swap it for your brown one, it won't make much difference I imagine just one releases the pressure quicker than the other. At least then you know everything is how it was designed which makes fault finding much more straightforward. I'm at work till early July but I can pop down or meet you somewhere.
Yeah cool mate where you working like buddy?

Nice one buddy I am at work Friday but what time you there till? I could try and catch you when I finish
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

Yes mate that will work for me I work in Washington so could come down the A1231 on the way home I look forward to catching up buddy
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Well I have a 3in downpipe and matching decat sitting in the garage waiting to be fitted think I might just get on with it on Sunday as they have been sitting around for a while now any tips to the downpipe as it looks like it might be best to tackle from the top!

bottom 2 bolts gonna need to go at it from bottom mate.
remove alloy hard pipes on top. marking up or photo vac lines.
access to o2 sensor disconnect plug at uim then unbolt o2 sensor ideally with cut away socket 22mm.. unscrew and put in safe place.
14mm deep socket on 4 nuts on studs...i found i had to undue and slid off steering shaft...remove lower bolt theres a slot and it wont slip out in order to make room. get the wheel straight before.
theres 2 x10mm nuts for the alloy hard pipes that i found i had to go at it from underneath....

theres a bit more 2 it but thats the basic and the things to watch out for....i expect there frikin tight and pray to rotor god they don't pick up.

Pentrating oil in a spray...wd40 and such like....you may be able to get to the bolts without so much stripping out but i was removing anyway so made sense to make access.

herea another photo with the alloy charge pipes on...
Yeah was thinking wd40 but was hoping there was some sort of miracle spray that would make everything easy lol no such luck then

Hi mate you been quiet for abit...all ok with you and car?
Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
Yes mate all well car has been canny needs a map now! As I now have 3inch decat, downpipe and rear section and SMIC with trust induction and an Apexi with commander so hoping for 330+bhp maybe lol. But it will defo have to be a weekend away trip to get it mapped not sure who to go to tho WGT seem to be highly recommended tho, but rotary revs is only in York but not sure if I should try them as not heard any feedback from anybody with a 7 just 8s.
Anyway been to a few meets etc in the car and it's been great! (http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160908/b292efaf8827230940f3afccf21e1b1e.jpg)
She is looking good even if I do say so myself lol
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
That me in the red hoodie by the way lol
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Not sure RR do apexi remaps, WGT defo do though and like you said awesome rep....dont think theyll map higher than 1 bar though seems a wgt thing.
What's a possible output @ 1 bar then?
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
320 to 340 im led to believe.
Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
That would do me I think like that's more than enough to help it find a tree or lamp post on a damp day lol
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Yep stay ouuta boost in wet conditions.
Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
Yeah it doesn't end well lol
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
So it's Winter time and the car is now cleaned and in the garage so it's time to service it and maybe change a few bits and hopefully fix the small misfire I get every now and then when in boost.
First on my list is to fit my new 10mm core leads and the fuel filter, quick question do I have to remove the oil filler neck to change the leads? Started to remove elbow etc last night and it looks like it could be easier
(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161213/c0aed9d4838dd34e04554e34e12fcd48.jpg)
?????
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Shouldnt have to remove anything to fit new leads mate....that fuel filter gonna test your patience though...good luck.
Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
I have seen its location maye when it was on the ramps in my mates garage looks a little tricky is it worth relocating it while I am on? and if so is there a pefered place?
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Yeah thought about relocating mine to behind subframe rather than in it above diff...some 8mm fuel hose prob all thats needed to extend lines. Pig to clips off and pig to get back in place. Pull fuse or relay and run engine to empty fuel to minimise fuel soaking you..
Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
Ah cheers mate hadn't even considered that and that would turn a pig of a job into a proper b@st@rd of a job lol, while we are on the subject of fuel what's a good option for upgrading the fuel pump? As I guess that's a worth while mod? Or is the standard one more than capable of running stock twins with higher boost?
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
I put in Walbro 255 i think from Clive at MRP....more than capable just wanted to get a new 1 in there. Give Clive a bell.
Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
Cheers buddy I think I will, so how is your fleet running these days?
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Lol...where in money saving mode atmo to sort westy....as westy is dead...7 is fine apart from the sieve like oil leaks ha ha. 7 boost is all over the place since this weather got cooler so needs a looksee...but the rest of the support fleet the shogun n scooby have all been receiving attention i didnt have time for during summer months so its there time for tlc. Been doing few jobs for others so coffers are recovering....
Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
Yeah my 7 has an oil leak from the back but top of the engine somewhere I think, so i was thinking about overhauling the Rats nest during the winter months and while I am on see if I can find the source of the oil leak lol
Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
So I am bored and thinking of whats next to do with the car so I thought I am running a decat, and have been looking online and it seems that I don't need an air pump so as I don't require one anymore I have a couple of questions on what I should do?
Do I remove the Air pump completely or can I blank off the pipe work or will this cause issues? and if I did remove it do I just need to buy a smaller belt ( I have read this is not the best option as the water pump pulley does not get the contact required and also puts stress on the shaft bearings?) or do I need to buy an idler pulley? if so how does one of these fit/mount as I have found them fairly cheap on the web but they seem to just be the pulley, yet looking at the pineapple racing kit looks to come with a mounting bracket etc.
Just a little confused so any help/advice would be great also while I am on is there anything else that could be removed or blanked off.
Cheers people
both my fd's came with the air pumps already deleted so i have not had todo mate and have no idea tbh.... ??? Youll have to suss it out and update a recent how to. :P
Will do buddy Cheers
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
John if yours is already done can I ask pulley wise what's in place or not as the case my be have you a pic of how your belts are routed?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Will do mate ill get a piccy but basically, e shaft, water pump via an underdrive pulley round the alternator and down to e shaft again...thats it. I have no power steering either.
Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
I bought an Idler pully from dm motorsport to allow the use of the original belt. Also for your fuel pump any of the upgraded ones are fine Walbro etc, I went for a bosch 044 personally, just remember you will need a map after or you will run extremely rich. I would group some parts together and get the map done with all parts fitted.
Cheers Neil, do I have to modify the hanger for the pump or is it direct replacement?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Iirc it's a straight swap, but check as it was a while ago.
soz for delay first time out to garge for a few days
(http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u397/boosted38/20170204_155941_zpszwcypfvx.jpg)
Cheers John, so you are using an underdrive water pump pulley, is that ribbed it looks it? And have you ever noticed it slip under stress or do you get higher temps at low revs? and to ensure the contact on the water pump pulley is the belt overly tight? Sorry for all the questions it's just there the problems a number of people have reported when not using the air pump idler pulley.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ha ha yep ribbed for pleasure...my temps are rock solid come up to 82 ish and stay there monitored via a defi gauge ..its not overly tight either...about 5mm belt deflection. I do have another belt and pulley but never got round to it....seems fine to me.
Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
lol I know as I wrote it I thought it sounded wrong
I might save the money and go this option then?

Not been on for a while so thought I would post, not done much with the Car over the last few months apart from enjoy driving it, keeping it clean, and take it to local meets and shows but it will not be long till I start some winter project work!
Anyway here is a pic of the Car taken after Slamfest show! (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170917/bc7c7ca7b349d51f209b83741123c82b.jpg)

:13: Gets the thumbs up from me :love4:
Not been on in a while but then I haven’t been using the car much at all this year!
So here is an update it passed its MOT two months ago it has a few little advisories that I need to sort but nothing worrying, I then did a local car show that same weekend and that’s been it’s lot. It got parked up and forgotten about.
Mainly due to the rear wheel bearing that it was advised on which decided on the way back from the car show to become louder than the bloody exhaust lol
Anyway I now have a wheel bearing so if I can get the time that’s this weekends job so if anybody has any tips or a guide for the rear bearing please share, hopefully I will be on here and spending more time with the car again now!
I have also bought but yet to fit two trackrods, 99 spec y pipe, and crossover, some HKS hardpipes for my smic and a new headunit as well as a vented headlight cover there is probably more bits I have bought and forgotten that need fitting lol but I am also on the look out for a Greddy elbow if one comes up cheap let me know lol

Looks like you'll be spending a lot more time in the garage fixing/modding than driving :)
Hmmm, that sounds familiar, my "on the road" 1st Gen is currently in my garage needing a new oil cooler and I've then found lots of other stuff I should do to the car whilst the cooler is out and I have access to under the front ;) ;D
Always the same with these older cars tho take one thing off to fix something and find many more things that need to be sorted it’s never ending
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Don't I know it ;)
I'm getting the oil cooler on KIMI 2 re-cored as it sprang a leak. That meant taking out the under-tray, which had a big dent and needed straightening and repainting. Then saw some rusty fixings I thought I'd replace. Took off front valance and saw some chassis rail rust that needed sorting. Front bumper about to come off.....
What next on this oil cooler change :)
Lol

quick job turned into a few week nightmare

thing is it’s not just time it’s the bloody money too, but that said we wouldn’t do the buggers if we didn’t love them lol
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Good to see you back Dax! Never done an FD wheel bearing so can offer no advice...prob need a breaker bar if anything like mx5/eunos rear wheel bearings. Broke the breaker bar knuckle on last 1 i did and had to carefully angle grind the ceased nut off.
Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
I'm guessing we spoke on the phone yesterday, did you get a bearing sorted?
Yeah sorry I haven’t been on as much as I should life sort of gets in the way and having 4 little ones too time is not always something I have all that much of
Yeah it’s ceased bloody thing, my power bar/breaker bar was proper flexing I was worried it snapped, so might have to try and limp it down to my mates garage, problem is I hate being defeated so I might resort to the angle grinder

Clive: no mate it wasn’t me on the phone about the bearing
I think or should I say hope I have the right one won’t know till I pull the hub tho I guess so I could be on the phone soon
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well I got the hub off but not without a fight, but it was the brake carrier that caused the issue as the bolt snapped in the bugger I managed to take the full hub with Disk and carrier off anyway and removed the snapped bolt but now lies my current problem I can’t find a bolt with the same thread to replace the snapped one, so if anybody knows where I could source one from? Or has a spare let me know .
I am a bit gutted because I wanted the car on the road for a show this weekend too

So my FD has been sat for a while and so the battery was flat so charged it up over night and decided to start it up and take it for a drive. All is good in the world except about every 3 seconds I get a beep any ideas what it could be?
The car drove absolutely fine only issue was this bloody beeping! Lol

Water buzzer ?
Or aftermarket Alarm....
Coolant buzzer has a 10 second delay..on off.
I remember when trying and failing to get working clocks i had a continous tone from 1 set up...
Is it same buzzer as coolant alarm?...disconnect the water sensor and see if same tone...?
