Title: Hello from Sunderland
Post by: Dax on February 29, 2016, 09:59:05 AM
Hello People,

I am new to MRC and the owner of a RX7 FD3S which I have owned about 13 years now, but as the wife kept having children (4 in total) the car has never managed to see the road for over 6 years. However I have plans to put it back on the road this Summer, so there will be quite a few little jobs that I will be asking advice on etc as I go, hope you don't mind.
I am also hoping should it see the road to get to a meet or two, that is if there are some held in the north east area.

Cheers in advance for any help I get in the future

I'm up in Cramlington,  could have been, although it's not been out much over the winter. I'm at Croft on the 18th and can usually be found at most Croft trackdays

Nice one might have to have a meet up when I get mine back on the road.
Which will hopefully be over the next few months ready for the Summer

Ive done 1 and nearly on my 2nd that been laid up for a few years and due to being well made originally apart from brakes and bushes and wiper blades seem to get though mot ok. Both id  done 1 bit of welding all the brakes but no brake pipes so hopefully should be ok.

Well its been stored in my garage which is dry at least and it needed nothing when it was parked up and every few months has been started and pulled out and dusted off so hopefully just a good service and I should be good to go.
On that note where is the best place to source service parts? Such as fuel filter oil filter and plugs? Or is everywhere much the same?

Was just looking at the plugs for sale in Clive's shop might sound like a dumb question but what's with the two different types? Trailing and leading? Forgive me if it's stupid lol

Leading and trailing the same on rx7 standardish tune ngk bqr9e summit like that..dont worry i rang Clive when i got mine to check. On the rx8 the leading plug is different to the trailing.
