Title: R2 Strut braces
Post by: Brett on August 13, 2004, 12:30:29 PM
I think I\'m right in saying that the R2 is meant to have both front and rear strut braces?

Only the one I\'m looking at has the rear one but the front ones gone walk about!

they\'re not essential but try and knock the price down by the cost of getting one £75 from Dragon I think.

Only the R1\'s came with both, the type R2 didn\'t come with the front one, not sure about the later type r\'s. Mine didn\'t come with one and neither did the one pete millis just sold, so yep you\'ll have to buy one. I\'m after a cusco or similar, i think rotary performance in the US have a few nice ones for not much $$$$$ but shipping could be dear :(

Hope that helps, Paul:)

Hyper sports in bolton are digging one out for me, same as the cusco, but with black ends, plus quite a bit cheaper.

My 94 R2 came with front and back, the front being the lovely red one with \'RX-7\' in the middle, I\'m sure I\'ve seen plenty of others too. You sure the R2 didn\'t come with them as standard and they\'ve been added, or just some people have bought cars where they have been removed ???

Mart.

The strut brace fitment thing is an odd one, mine is a UK car with braces front n rear and adjustable for width, but most seem non adjustable.
Real strange that there is no braces on a Bathhurst model as this is one of Mazda\'s models that they used for racing homologation.

Hmmm curious...

Maybe they were an option in japan?

How much will a nice mazda front strut brace set me back then?

probably a good start...

Sorry for slight hijack, but...
just got a rear strut brace and went out to fit it tonight. can anyone tell me what\'s missing from this pic or post a pic of a fitted one so I can see?

Looks like you\'re missing the U bracket off of the end.
