Guys,

The time has come for me to sell my FD, i havent used it in too long now.  Ive moved house, have nowhere to work on it now and its just

sitting at a friends gathering dust.

Ive owned this since i was 18, im 30 now! end of an era. But it has to go.  I got it as a stock car and modified it into what it is

now.

Before I moved i did a whole bunch of work getting it back to road worthy.  Realistically to be a proper nice FD it needs a full

restoration, which i dont have time or space to do.  To be a track slag it just needs a thorough wash, and an MOT.  It may fail on a

couple of bits (Emissions, headlights etc) but the car is structuarlly sound and shouldnt need much

I used to use this car for lots of track and nurburgring work.  If Max is still around (used to run one of the RX7 companies, not sure

if hes still about?) He's seen this car...and been chased around the ring by it haha.  Managed myself a 7:57 and then gave up because I

didnt want to kill myself :)

Spec:
approx 12k on a fresh rebuild.  I did myself so no docs to prove, you are welcome to compression test.  Can supply pictures of the

rebuild.  New housings used.  End plates re-used (Were totally within spec) Injectors cleaned etc all that good stuff.
Boot mounted battery
front AP aftermarket brake kit 6 pot
BRAND NEW (0 miles) Bc racing coilovers
Racing beat silenced exhaust
decat with silencer
Apexi power FC
V mount rad and intercooler
RE-A style headlights (they arent very good for night driving!)
RE-A Style FRP bonnet
Rays 57s Pro wheels, they got tatty due to brake dust so had resprayed.  I think its 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear
Cobra suzuka S FIA approved (Expired) seats.  A little sun bleached!
6 point racing harnesses (TRS ones)
Greddy intake elbow
stock twins
aftermarket R888 Tyres with loads of tread left (have done 1 nurburgring trip, trailered there, 10 laps or so)
Defi gauge set, oil pressure, temprature and water temp on dash. Boost guage in pillar
Oil sensor take off plate to work gauges (Sits under filter)
aftermarket stereo head unit - think its an alpine with hands free
aftermarket steering wheel with snap off boss (again a little sun bleached)
poly bushings all round
factory spoiler removed
braided brake lines all round
engine power@320bhp last time it was rollered (Stock twins 14psi)
Aftermarket solenoid set (got them from a group buy on the US RX7 forum, made by saxyman i think it was)
Mazdaspeed PPF
Exedy twin plate clutch, 3k miles
Feed turbo downpipe (think its titanium but not sure, cant remember)
Aftermarket harness mounting bar
2000 spec door cards and cockpit interior (the stuff that doesnt peel)
AC / PS removed
Cobra alarm (Think its a 7925 not sure tho)

Comes with:

UNFITTED Cusco bolt in roll cage, I THINK its the 8 point, its somewhere between 8 and 6! http://www.cuscousainc.com/products/roll-

New engine mounts (it has solids on it at the moment that cause a lot of vibration)

UNFITTED engine damper (was going to swap to standard mounts with engine damper instead of solid)

whatever spares I can find in the garage (not sure how much i have left now)

UNFITTED front and rear wide arch kit.  The fronts are the really "square" type (As used on the Dragon drag car

Bad bits/problems:
Its had a repaint.  A really really bad repaint.  Long story short I had it in a friends garage and he got turfed out with 48 hours

notice while I was in the middle of doing it.  I basically sprayed it in the dark because we didnt have chance to sort the lighting

out, so there are quite a few runs all over the place.  Its shiny enough with a buff though!

Headlights are terrible.  Literally like candles.  They also need new relays fitting to them as I think the waters got into them

Gearbox is a little noisy.  Goes into every gear well enough, just makes a noise when in neutral with the clutch out.  I think its the

lay shaft bearings, not sure - but it drives fine.  As i say just a little noise.

It'll need trailering away but should drive ok, its just not been run for ages and has had new suspension and no alignment done.

Price wise I just don't know where to put it. I'll start at £3500.  Open to offers though.

I have a LOT of pictures and videos of this car.  Ive included a few photos below of the car when it was being cared for, but note that the most recent ones (Taken today) are from where its clearly sat for a while.  Ive also included some pics of the rebuild I did; which had new everything seals wise.  Standard Mazda Apex seals, side seals corner seals oil seals etc etc.

P.s its a 1992.  Mileage unknown as its had a few different gauge clsuters due to breakage.  I suspect around 80k though.  It had 60 or so when i got it and i havent used it all that much, always been a second car

Hi Japi. Yes it will be. Carl has taken a deposit from me. Im recovering from surgery so hoping i can pick up soon. Gotta sort trailer and such like as car has not been on road for some. Lots todo nèeds recomissioning for uk mot and all fluids etc.

My fd was my first rotary totally bog standard....and i had no knowledge coming from modified nissans and subaru....i modified it over 2 years. Coilovers fmic etc. She detonated 1 day after a trackday few years back..was pretty broke at time so went on ebay...i was truly gutted.

Theres a youtube onboard at combe if i remember correctly. First on track japfest 2011 i think...had some fun then Clive overtook me. Lol

Great car this. Had the pleasure of a few passenger laps in this car around the nurburgring a few moons back. Really well setup. I didnt even realise you still had this! Looks a bit different to how I remember though

Ok, I see. Well, now you have knowledge to do track beast, "few" Renesis have taught you ;) And seems like that car wont need any big jobs, looks like good car to play with. And dont like show&shine...

If oiling and cooling are working, dont have to worry about them. Maybe that gearbox if its noisy. Swap 6speed on it :P

Yep always had cooling and boost control issues on last 1 that lead to its demise. 2nd bite of cherry.

So turned up this morning, reconnected the battery, put a bit of fuel in (there was about 1/4 of a tank in it but its probably 2 years old now so put some fresh super in)

Checked the oil, clean as a whistle and at the correct level.  Turned the key, and got a bit emotional....couldn't believe how quick it started considering its not run for probably over a year now.

Ive got people queuing up to buy it mate! :)  I priced it as it is, maybe a bit low but wanted it to sell.  To be fair it does need loads of little bits doing to it (Which I've explained to Jon) so i'd feel bad selling it at "full working car" price.  He's got a fair bit to sort out on it but hopefully he has the time and the space to do what I didn't, and she will soon live on and continue to embarass lots of expensive machinery!

I'll bring my GT86 down to a track day with Jon at some point when he's got her going again.  Maybe he'd be kind enough to let me have a go ;)

Yeah playstation great for learning circuit layout!  Dont cost anything when you crash.....Westy time around combe is 1.17....what can i do in the fd.

Talking about crashes, this is friend of mine, in our home racetrack Ahvenisto. He is fighting with his Imp against stupid Fords and Opels. This is seasons 4th race and same dude with Ford has hitted him 3 times in this season allready. So, reaction at end is justified... ;)

Theyve got very popular now used to buy em in winter in all sorts of disrepair and do up over winter and sell fully serviced and fresh ticket in mar/apr time. Cracking little track car too! Rear handbrakes usually naff on all of em.

Those little things are amazing! I have been with our Miata clubs events at Ahvenisto. They are fast little buggers ;)

Just for comparison how fast those things are. This was copied from our Miata clubs page. Beemer E46 M3 CSL can lap 1:30-1:33 range at Ahvenisto.

Actually, you should try one. Old B5 Audis are great, with horisontaly mounted engine, they have old style Torsen Quattro...

S3 is a decent car. Unfortunatly it has Haltex fourwheel drive, and thats crap. Good for daily driving but not having fun in snow ;)
Yep, I like those A4s, I had 2. One with 2,6l tipronic, (I manage to brake that gearbox) and one with 2,5tdi quattro tiptronic. It was fun...

Will start a build thread as Carl requested. Lot quieter than my old 1 on tick over which is great for my neighbours. Need to buy a shed so i can get both cars in garage so much useful junk in garage.
