Title: Classic Car Show, NEC Birmingham, 13-15 November
Post by: Casey on November 13, 2015, 12:14:14 AM
The huge Classic Motor Show is taking place this weekend at the Birmingham NEC;

http://www.necclassicmotorshow.com/ (http://www.necclassicmotorshow.com/)

If you get a chance to go along you will see this lovely Mazda RX-4 in the "Pride of Ownership" area of the show, in Hall 5, just in front of the "Wheeler Dealer" live show. Some of you will recognise the car I'm sure  ;), as it always attracts a lot of attention wherever it appears, due to it's stunning condition.

If your coming along to the NEC Classic Car show at the weekend, then come and visit us in Hall 5 where our Mazda RX-4 is on one of the "Pride of Ownership" stands. It is right by the Wheeler Dealers live stage. Come over and say :s_hi:

I was there Saturday - how the hell did I miss it, typical.

Walked round with a friend thinking 'Clive's car is better prepared than most of these'.

It's so vast perhaps not surprising.

Sorry I didn't catch up with you John, great to all of you who we did see though :).

I actually debated for a couple of weeks before agreeing to go, reason is, because as many of you know "I use the car properly in all weathers"  I really did not feel it was good enough to show,

Once I agreed, I spent two weeks off and on trying to make it look as good as I could.

Basically, the 30 invited cars either had to have one hell of a story, and or be very very rare.

Real real variety amongst the 30 cars though, from a £150,000 spent on a Ford Pop, to an immaculate Austin A40 owned and used for 51 years, to a 1 of ten left VW Matador etc etc with every invited car being very special.

Other than the normal MX-5 brigade, I did not see any other Mazda's let alone a Rotary and there were apparently 2500 car on show!

First place was a 1920's wooden boat tailed monster, second was an old  micro car with six tiny wheels and third was the A40.

With that said, we had a wonderful time chatting to some proper Rotary enthusiasts that I had never met including an Australian who had an RX-4 in his collection back home and an old time Mazda dealer who sold old RX-2's, 3's, and 4's.

"Plus" We have a convert who has a show winning Ford collection of Escorts etc who had been trying to see the RX-4 in the flesh a long time, now he has sat in the car he is off to scour the planet for an RX-4 by selling one of his Escorts that will probably bring 40K,

I thought he was telling story's until he showed me Rotary pictures on his phone.

Clive it was good to catch up with yourself and Lisa at the show.  Car was stunning as always.

Glad you met some people who showed real interest, I always find that is the best part of any show.
