I know we have not even had Christmas yet but Japfest is the most popular car event of the year, so to start getting ready for when we can book the club stand.
Pete on the RX-8OC has got things started, and MRC will join them with regards to track sessions. There will be 4 track sessions available and currently Pete has allocated 5 track places per session.
As this event is extremely popular on the RX-8 OC, I would ask that if would like to go out on track that you put your name down as soon as possible
Please copy the track sessions into your own posted so that we can keep the thread tidy.
Please copy and paste into your own post when replying.

Nearly all the track sessions have been allocated on the RX-8 OC.
In order for MRC not to lose the 20 places in 4 track sessions that the RX-8OC have allocated to us, please put your name down if you would like to go out on track at Japfest.
I know it seems as if the event is a long way off, but we have to secure track sessions in January.
Where are you Casey! :sign0085:
:) Hi Lisa. I'm not on the forums much at moment as Gwyn and I are decorating the lounge - a huge job and one we want to get done as quickly as possible!
I'm down on the RX8OC stand list at the moment, with 4 track sessions on their list. Depending on how things go, I can always swap over and release a space on the stand and RX8OC track allocation.
But where is everybody else? The biggest European Jap Car show in the calendar, and no-one wants to show their car off to the huge crowds/ :(
You can put me down for two sessions,i haven't had the chance to drive for a few years :'(

Will transfer above details onto my list on the RX-8OC
Well done Guys,
What a fantastic response
I realise some people may think this is a little early but we have to know what to buy well in advance.
This is shaping up to be a massive Rotory gathering that will be even bigger and better than last year
Our aim is to have the largest presence at the largest Japanese show in Europe and by working together we will achieve this.
Thank you all for your support
Regards
Pete
Details now updated in the Events Admin Section on the RX-8OC regarding your track time
When is this event?
Hi Japi
It will be sometime in May usually around the 2nd week of May. Once we have a definate date we will post up the date for you
If your planning another uk trip Japi....you could wait til this show. Its very big and last year the Rotarys seemed to dominate the track action.....seemed like the Essex and LC rotarys boys where out every other session. Lots of jap cars biggest show in uk.
Ok. Thanks for info :)
Bte, where is this event anyways? Track?
And sorry Lisa, didnt mean to post unnecessary posts to this topic... :)
Castle Combe usually
Its at Castle Combe in Wiltshire . Not 1 of the more famous uk racing circuits but has decent racing heritage going back to 1955. most of the uk racing greats have peddle here in there early uk careers and at 1 point the fastest circuit in the uk! google castle combe circuit.
Spectator veiwing is great as theres not alot of run off and high banks for spectator veiwing.
Castle Combe? Damn, I have been dreaming that some day I would be able to go there! I love that track profile...
I spend +2 hours yesterday googleing surrounding areas ;)
I WANNA COME!
Can moderator or someone delete these unnecessary posts so Lisa wont get angry at me...? ;)
Real pleased to hear your thinking of coming along, YOU WILL LOVE IT
It may be an idea to see the sights in London and then train down Chippenham and one of us will get you across to the hotel the night before, then drop you off at a Heathrow airport hotel on the way back.
Or hire maybe get you in a car for a few days, plus if you could get a hire Japanese car we could get you around the track ( ever seen Days of Thunder ;))
I'm sure between us all we can sort something for you
p,s, trust me, your never going to get a Lisa angry so don't worry 8)
Hi Japi....im close to Castle Combe and i could give you a bed for the night before and bed for the night of the event if need be and a lift to the event. If you fly in to Bristol Airport happy to pick up and drop off. Or as Clive says hire a car and take in some sites.
Thanks for replies guys. And thanks for offer Jon :) Really looking forward to see you all. I´m still very pissed of cause wasnt able to come to Holland or Goodwood. :(
Anyhow, I have a plan allready, I have spent several hours googleing... I think rental car is only option at this point. Because seems that my wifey and daughter are coming too :D
Lots of awesome sites to see. Plan (so far) is:
-Hire a car at Gatwick. We cant get reasonable direct flights to any other airport. Exept Heathrow but its too big for me, I´m a hillbilly ;)
-Drive south to shore to Arundel. Awesome sites to see
-continue to Portsmouth. Few sites there too
-then to Salisbury. I think we have to stay a night there.
-next day, visit the Stone´s, steal one of Jon´s cars, continue to north towards Trowbridge, and then towards Combe.
-next day to Bath and that area. Only problem is that more I study the area, more I find places to go. :)
Btw, what hotel do you guys usually go to? Premier Inn at Bath or Chippenham?
Would it be awesome to take a lap at Combe, dream come true. I could trash that rental car for fun thought, I hate that Fiat we had last time :D
Sorry Lisa again ;)
Quote from: re japi on November 09, 2015, 06:30:06 AMBtw, what hotel do you guys usually go to? Premier Inn at Bath or Chippenham?
Premier Inn, Cepen Lodge is the usual hotel of choice.
Awesome that you are planning to come over for Japfest :) There are so many lovely places you could choose to visit on your way over from Gatwick. If you decide to take a trip to Dorset (not currently on your schedule) then I can advise on some places to visit. You saw some of my coastal pics on Facebook :) However, there is just so much to choose from and only a few days, but it will be fun deciding with your family what you'd like to do together.
Ok, thanks. In Chippenham or?
At first I planned to come to UK in August. Thru Dorset, north coast line and to Lincoln, towards Doncaster. There is big tattoo jam. And I need from Steves tattoo artist ;)
I did love your pics :) a bit different scenery than I have from my home :D But I will come to that direction, thats for sure. Just dunno when...
Wow, lots of typos in my previous message :D
I meant thru London, following eastern coast line to north...
And need INK from Steves artist... ;)
If you hire a Japanese Car then you could park on the MRC Stand
Ok, it was a "mistake" to go googleing Dorset. Simply stunning area. Dunno what to do... I think we have to extend our trip...
Hmm, does car rental companys have RX-8's...? ;)
session 2 and 4 please
Ok, I have to troll this topic again... ;)
I have been checking hotels in that area. They are all already almost full at that time? I wonder why...?
And what is that Cepen Lodge? I googled it and it seemed like old folks home! :D And I cant find it from Booking and so on...
Bath seems to have more hotels available but some of them are VERY expensive :)
Oh and Jon, can you recommend some tattoo artist in that area? I have been doing research but it would be nice to hear from local. Me skin needs more souveneirs ;) :D
And could some moderator please make a new topic and move my unnecessary posts to there? I have a feeling that I will continue this posting about six months.. ;)
My mate Matty works in the local tattoo shop! Hes very good. Goes to all the tattoo shows! Not had any done by him as dont want anymore but ive seen his work and its epic.
What is that shops name? Thanks :)
Studio ink tattoo Westbury Wilts uk.
Matt King? Allready found it. ;) makes awesome art!
Yes, he is going to do my next rotary tattoo. Allready got some ideas. I have been thinking my first coloured, so he is the man for that job!
Thanks for info. Now I have to contact him :)
Yep thats him, He loves his custom work so send him an email and mention me. 8)
Ok, good. I have quite good plan, I think he will like it.
I found him and his shop in facebook.
So exited, cant wait :D
Thanks again :)
No worries! :P

How come they are allready booked when date is not confirmed yet? Getting really difficult to find a nice place. Seems like we have to go to Bath´s hotels. And I cant find that Cepen Park from ebooker, booking and so on... :/
Oh, I contacted Matt. I think he liked my idea. He will design it after I send deposit. Wohoo, cant wait! :P
Like i said there is 1 double bed here an room for the 2 nights either side of event if you need it.
Thanks Jon again, for your offer. :) But we have been thinking maybe spend 3-4 days at that area. Alltough we could drop my daughter to your missus so she can babysit for few days ;)
Weird thing btw, car rental companys doesent have Jap cars for rent... Just Huyndais, VW´s and Opels.
Anywhoo, we have been thinking that I would spend that day with you guys and my family would go shopping or something. But for that plan, we need hotel in Chippenham, and if I can ride from someone to Combe and back. Although would be nice to be in same hotel with you. :)
And dont worry i havent slept walked naked for ages....been a couple of hours since last occurence!!! Ha ha lol.
Think i scared Japi off.....
:57:
Sorry, didnt see that message. I was in garage figuring out my renny engine :) But that was funny :D

So... Japfest is at Silverstone 24th April...?
Damn, I have to figure out all my travel plans again now... :/
Yep, Silverstone 24th April - that was totally unexpected :(
Looks like I'm out, as I wasn't expecting an April date and have already booked and paid for an ELO concert that weekend, goign with some friends...
I have amended the title to now read Silverstone on Sunday 24th April.
Nor sure how this will affect things with regards attendance and track sessions.
Please let me know if you are still interested in attending the event.
Malcolm, I note you will not be able to attend, but could you help with liaising with the RX-8OC re track sessions for MRC?
^^ Yes, I'll try to keep an eye on RX8OC developments - it's going to cause quite a lot of disruption and redoing of current names lists. Caught everyone completely by surprise :(
a little birdy told me That Combe will on arranged date be holding there own Japfest......
real shame this for me ive been to everyone at Combe and just cost me 100 quid in fuel lol!
Seen events move and then have rivals in the past so I can see a potential mess on the horizon and the big question may well become that if Coombe hold a rival which one will be the one to go to ::)
Jon, please keep on the case and keep us posted.
Yes, when event grow bigger, they usually have to adapt and also they usually lose something... I have been reading some topics in Japfest Facebook site. People are not happy about this. But then again, if Combe wasnt big enough to hold that event...
Date actually doesent matter to me. Because there is first round of our rallycross in 6th of May. And its on my home track Ahvenisto (little birds told me that too)... We are hoping to get bro´s car to that event... :P
But now I know that to do... I really wanted to go to Bath, Combe, Jon´s area... :(
Umm, what is ELO consert? Oh, and what hotel do you use in that area? Some at Milton Keys?
Can you put my Name down Maybe willing to give this new Venue a try as well as being only 20 mins from the house ;) no track time just stand thanks tony.
Hi Tony. Yes me 2 willing to give it a try. Shame not at combe 20 mins from me lol.
