Title: Hi all im new starting a project
Post by: Nick Fox on October 01, 2015, 08:29:28 PM
Hi all

i stumbled across this forum link and it looked very interesting so here i am

i own 2 x Mazda rx-8's both are the 192 models 1 an 04 and 1 an 05

The 04 has a bad rotor bearing due the wrong oil being put in the engine the 05 i use daily but has started to get a hot start issue approx 7 min delay before restart.

so i have decided to completely strip the 04 and start a project out of it im thinking of porting the engine out and adding another 2 rotors. it looks like this site has  a lot of experienced rotary owners that could let me pick there brains and help me get project on its way.

i have a unit fully equipped with tools remapping equipment diagnostic machines etc but i am quite new with the mapping side of things so this is where i will have issues.

i look forward to discussing my madness of a hobby with you guys

Hello and welcome :)

Do you know MX5 Motors in Doncaster? Owner Steve is member here. He has few awesome rotarys and plenty of knowledge. And he is really nice guy :)

If you are planning to port that 192 engine, be careful and study what can be done. Problem is that no one ports those engines. I destroyed one just to see what can be done to it. Check my thread

Tryed to explain what I have done to it.  And few oops too ;)
