Title: Tailgate and door loom removal
Post by: leeroy_25 on August 11, 2015, 09:44:12 PM
I am repainting my FD and to try and make life easy I am considering taking off the doors and tailgate. Firstly is that wise or will I regret it when it comes to refit and line it all back up. Secondly if it is okay to take them off are the harnesses going into the boot and doors easy to disconnect at the rubber seals or do they require pulling the plugs off all the connections and pulling the complete harness out of the door or boot?
Please can someone shed some light.
Thank you
Lee

Regarding the doors you defo wanna unplug . The connector will pull through the hole  and come ithe the door. Just unbolt the hinge from the a pillar and disconnect door stay.re Lining up was straight forward enough.  Tailgate left on, on the 1 i helped with.

Does the door harness unplug from the outside of the pillar? Do I need to peel the rubber gaiter back to see a Clip? I would prefer tailgate off so I can properly get in the shut area. Just need to know how to disconnect the wiring?!
