Title: BLUE CAR PROJECT
Post by: Taner on February 11, 2015, 07:03:09 PM
Hi all.

Thought I start a project Thread to keep anyone who may be interested up to date with the goings on of the Blue Car Project

At the mo there isn't too much to say.   A friend of a friend was selling it as it had just sat in a lockup for the last 2 years.

Thought I buy it and get it back up and running ready for the summer if possible.

No doubt it will need ALOT of loving to get it presentable but il give it a go and keep Yall updated with pics etc.

Ahead of me I have a bit of welding, wiring, servicing, restoring etc etc

Below are 2 pics for you.

The first is the day I saw it, the second is the day after when it got delivered.

Had a bit of spare time on Sunday so I decided to get the seats and carpet out and get old Blue started as it has literally been in a  leaky old barn.

The front carpets were soaked through. Was expecting a rotten floor but was pleasantly surprised.

After approx an hour of dicking about. Managed to get it started. The  stale premix wasn't ideal but seemed to still fire up.

Looks like you are doing a thorough job.   What is the gauge screwed to top centre of dash?
I have got a Blue FB also that was stood for a number of years, but she all sorted now & runs sweet
Look forward to following your thread,
regards Pete

to be honest im not sure, was too busy holding my breath so not to contract some kind of stinky waterlogged carpet rust flu.  Think it may be a voltmeter.

Nice to see it coming along and that you got it running ok.

This is mine and Dave RX-7 83's old car which we were going to strip for parts but luckily Taner was after a project so another FB has been saved!
