Seriously it's an excellent picture and both the car and you have promoted the longevity of a well looked after Rotary very well for years now :bravo_2:

Here is my RX-8 project. As you can see, there is some parts missing ;)
Is this engine getting the chop?
Yes. Lets see what happens ;)
I just love that color. And that engine bay is shiny and awesome! :sign0098:
Here our a couple of pictures of my wife's RX-8 just before we sold it at the end of 2013.

here is my 300 quid 231 velocity red...( 387 with coparts robbing fees) dropped off without warning at the front of the house with engine failure! now running round the back lol
You have new RX-8??? 300£?!?!?! :Woot_Emoticon:
Local salvage yard....unrecorded and listed as engine failure....fsh and just outta mot. Plonked outside my house waiting for me when i got home from work. Bought from a few photos on the net. Opps.
She is rather doggy in places and has prob all the rx8 common issues. Rad light on. Steering light flicker when using steering wheel. Cat sounds dead. 74k maybe low comp poor hot starting have not got that far yet. Few rust spots in the usual places. Plan is to fix up fresh mot n service...she now has brand new coils & leads and after a very lengthy deflood as engine was full of fuel it mustve been nearly hydro locked she fired after some extensive cranking. Sounds sweet needs a good hooning ....9 owners in 11 years. not sure what im gonna do with my sprayer mate is interested as a weekend toy so prob let him have for cost and a drink on top.
And she starts hot result.
Good find, price was not bad. I´m so jealous... ;)
Could be yours ?
Hmm, tempted ;)
No fluke hot starting all day today on her own fully charged battery...coil packs not engine failure. Misses said were running an rx8 rescue centre lol.

looks fab after a wash n polish.
Damn, really good find. :sign0098: And tempted to take it from you ;)
I have message to your misses; It could be worse, you could be a Ford fanatic :c002:
I think 100% luck couldve got my fingers burned. Car deserves a decent owner once fixed up.
Wow that looks good :)
Bargain for £300 :13: . Even if it had been a dud and you'd broken it for parts, you would have been able to make a profit.

My R3,fun at Blyton... 5 years old, 45000 miles - Hayward's rebuild (!).
Nice picture Sean, and good to see you "back on track" ;)
Cool another R3 . Wifes is on 39k now....did Carl tell you reason for engine failure?
The red 1 is going to a new home mate having at cost its a bit too doggy on the body for me warrant spending money and sell on. He gone enjoy as is.
Loving the aggressive race look of your car Clive. Orange one looks like it's going to be one hell of a car.

It already was "one hell of a car" before an unfortunate incident where it got rear ended. At that point Tony almost decided not to repair it, but those of us who had drooled over it many times at various shows managed to persuade him to "bring it back", and so he has, even better than before, quite amazing. The car is truely astonishing and completely unique; the attention to detail is absolutely mind boggling. The pictures do not do it justice, this car just has to be seen to be believed. Well done to Tony for persevering after such a major setback :PDT_Armataz_01_37:
Here's mine at Rotorstock 10:

Edit: I don't know why this is so small??
Ann, the pic you have linked to is "avatar" sized, in that it's only 144x69 pixels and 89kb file size. That's why it's so small :)
Car is looking even better Tony !! The best RX-8 ever. :bravo_2:

just picked up a blue 1 231 rebuilt 9k ago....just 57k. drives very nice needs a service and sump....no idea what im gonna do with it prefer the colour though from my silver 1 decisions decisions.
I really like that color :) Umm, how many 8´s you have now Jon? :D
Quote from: re japi on April 25, 2015, 02:48:56 PMUmm, how many 8´s you have now Jon? :D
I was going to ask the same question ;D
I think you only have 2 Jon - you did have another one you bought cheap and sold on?
The red 1s gone to mate for cheap...so i got a blue and silver now and wife the black 1....complete bargain...stuuning colour....needs a sump putting on....which i have and sparks and oil change ...may keep the blue n and sell the silver....
Got a 2k rebuild 9 k ago....new coils but not gen......feels tight and planted on road....got it for a bag of sand!!!!!
Well...done about 50 miles in it now.....bloody quick....
Someone has been looking after it too - after market mesh has been fitted to the oil coolers. A good sign at least one previous owner has taken some care of it!
last owner a doctor! just complete lack of use reason for sale. There is no porting mentioned on rebuild paperwork...but it really shifts in 2nd....defo noticeable increase in acceleration over the s type and the R3. love the colour.....prob sorn the s type for a month and see how we get on with it. sump is a mess however! 8)
The blue 1 got a a good leak free sump today . oil and filter and fresh sparks today. i dunno which 1 to keep both have less than 60k less than 10k rebuilds.

Welcome to MRC,

As you have been such a long term club member of MRC, it is really nice to see you posting.
Had my Kuro for 3 weeks. First rotary I've owned or driven.
Bought on a whim.
53k
No hot/cold start issues, pulls like a train throughout the rev range.
loving it.

Very nice dont tend to see many in black.
Any idea when coils last changed...fresh genuine coils life blood of a healthy rx8.
Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
It had new coils about 2 months ago but I dont think they are genuine.
I'm going to take it to a rotary specialist for an opinion and probably have a compression test for peace of mind.
I know its an arse about face way of doing it. ....after buying it lol
Looks great - good idea to get a specialist to check her over :13:
:D

heres my mates new 231...bought whilst i was on holiday ???...few jobs done and now its flying...my race car coils are on it as coils where non gen and rubbish. Plus it had Autogrip tyres on the rear..downright dangerous so reboot with some Bridgestones so handling sweet. Fastest 8 ive ever driven proper quick 8) only 900 quid!!!!
£900 ??? - prices really are at an all time low for these cars. Bad for owners, good for buyers!
He bought 1 to learn it as he is a mechanic by trade....just got back from there as we speak fixing another lol...
Im just waiting for mine to turn up on the truck.......nail biting as bought unseen ha ha ha.
