Hello Everyone,
I'm Sarah, a petrol head from Essex! I've owned a 1st Gen RX-7 for about 15 years now. Sadly it's been sitting in dry storage for the last 10. It's a 1983 in quite good nick, just in a few parts! I got the engine professionally rebuilt a few years back (it still turns) and set about restoring my baby. I've done some welding and there's one more bit to weld, then it's a case of putting it all back together again. Sadly life hasn't been straight forward over the last few years, and I've had to get rid of another project. I fear I am going to have to make the same decision about my RX. So I thought I'd join the forum to see if there are folk that still get excited about restoring a 1st gen. I'm loathed to scrap her as it will be hard to part. I love that car and the amazing driving experience, but I just haven't got the time anymore.
Hi Sarah
Welcome. Do have a soft spot for an fb i will have 1 1day. Get some photos up we all like piccys here.
Hi Sarah and welcome to MRC :welcome:
Yep, there's still people who get excited about Gen 1's after all there's so few left around now :(
You say it's been in dry storage so hopefully it's going to be easy to get it up n running.
Pictures ?
Welcome!
Yes, we like FB's and we like pics ;)
I'll have to drag it out the garage and get some pics up. Half of me says to hang on to her, the other half desperately needs the time and space :(
Hi Sarah, whereabouts in Essex are you? Great to hear form another 1st Gen enthusiast somewhere close by. I have a 1983 FB that is in my garage that I'm restoring at an exceeeeeedingly slow pace. I've recently retired so hoping to make better progress on it in 2015!
HERE'S A LINK (http://mazdarotaryclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=69685.0) to my restore thread on here. I'll try to fix the broken photo links that seem to have occurred when we recently upgraded the forum :(
Bet it's not as slow as mine! Nice thread, mines not in such a whole piece. Quite close, but to coin a phrase, yet still so far.
I'm in Chelmsford, so rather close indeed!
Hi Sarah keep it going these are rare things now! Miss mine!
