Post by: brundish24 on October 29, 2014, 10:50:30 AM
As title, I went to start the fd this morning and nothing so the battery is dead then I went to jump start it and I turn the key and nothing just a clicking sound I\'m worried that I\'ve done something wrong, it\'s bog standard and it was working fine until the battery died any help. The battery doesn\'t hold a charge

It\'s completely dead, new time.  If that doesn\'t work then you might have a sticking solenoid.

Lh side of gearbox 2 securing bolts and 1 electrical nut. 1 elec connector on solenoid easy peasy...disconnect battery first.

Undo the starter pull it out and then refit.

The reason I say this because at times if the battery only has a little bit of power the starter will throw in and the gear will jam, this means the starter will just click until you get it to disengage.

The other thing to try is to put the car in gear as this sometimes also disengages a stuck starter

Hope this helps
