Title: Help please! 17x9.5 et38 rears 265 or 275 R888\'s?
Post by: rwdwiganer on October 11, 2014, 10:23:08 PM
Finally made my mind up with the wheels I will be going for- but my only concern now is that the rear tyres I want to buy might not actually fit? I keep getting told that Toyo R888 tyres are a slightly \'wider fit\' than normal road tyres so would really appreciate any advice from someone that has used a 275 rear tyre- preferably R888\'s on the rear of their FD before. I want to buy the widest tyre I can for 17x9.5 et38 rear wheels without rolling the rear arches. I would really appreciate it if someone could confirm this for me! Thanks!

888s and any semi cut road legal track tyre...have a much stiffer sidewall and this makes the overalll width wider. Best simple way to describe is squared off.

I have been told it might be an issue going as wide as a 275 R888 , may have to go with 265\'s unless anyone knows otherwise

Think you might be the guinea pig! Can arch roll after if they touch!
