Title: help!!downpipe.

Right..my car is in the garage at the moment having an aftermarket downpipe fitted..they guy rang me up saying it doesnt fit because the original downpipe has a cut out to make room for the steering collum and its also abit longer and the lamba sesnsor port is in the wrong place..can anybody help????

Sounds like you have bought a LHD DP. Did you get it from Bay of E?

I got it from a from andy clark..hes big in the jap scene and built loads of time attack cars..he had an rx7 but never fitted it because he went single turbo..is there anything i can do?

The OEM downpipe for a LHD is different to the one for the RHD.
The downpipe for the RHD will fit both LHD and RHD cars.
However the opposite does not work. The RHD cars have the steering rack passing from the downpipe, therefore the downpipe is bent there

Speak to him and ask why you have an LHD downpipe :Thumbs-up

Has anyone else has this trouble? Where there is no bend? And you still have fitted it? Should it just go in as easy as a oem one? Im having trouble with anouther aftermarket downpipe that iv purchased as a full turbo back system and its the downpipe is exacltly the same as the other 1 that didnt fit?

you got to have the bend dude as per the picture Nuki posted, it wont fit otherwise on a RHD car, if he bought it from America thats why it does not fit

So if it doesnt have the "dent" in its for a LHD? Bummer..ah well.. at least i still have my full 3inch decat..apparently thats more important?
