Title: RX8 235 insurance
Post by: zevans on August 07, 2004, 05:18:28 PM
I\'ve gone with Mazda (actually Zurich)...

30 years old, single, living in a loaded postcode, car on driveway, Class 1 business, 20,000 miles, 4 years NCB for just over 100 quid a month. That\'s not bad - Tesco were next best about 850 a year but that\'s probably 100 quid a month knowing the way these things usually work. Everyone else, including alleged specialists like Privilege, Firebond, Adrian F... were well over 1500 quid.

What convinced me is that they are mirroring the NCB on my existing car (which I\'m keeping. :D ) so that\'s why I thought I\'d post - good tip for those of you with daily drivers!

Well, scratch all that then...

Just read all the fine print and the fuppin fuppers state that "driveway" has to include lockable gates in front of the car - and if not then it\'s not covered for theft between 10pm and 6am.

I\'ve bought insurance for cars 7 times now and NEVER have I had a policy with that wording before. I shall be phoning tomorrow and asking them to give me the same price with "kept on the road" or I will be moving to Liverpool Victoria at the end of my statutory 14 days thank you very much.

EXTREMELY misleading in my view - who has lockable gates on their drive expect people with 5 acres of gardens?! I might even be asking GISC for their view...

Remember, read yer fine print, eh?
