Title: Mazda Nationals - 2015
Post by: Lisa on June 06, 2014, 12:05:35 PM
Hope everyone who came to the Mazda Nationals on Sunday enjoyed the day!:Thumbs-up

I have enquired about holding the event next year at Brooklands and these are the only dates that are available:-

The only dates we have free for 2015 are

Any Sunday in January
1st,  8th,  29th November

So the question for you all is do we select one of the winter dates or do we try and hold a Mazda Nationals somewhere else, if so where, suggestions on a  postcard please!

Darn - personally, I don\'t think a winter date at Brooklands will work. IMHO, it\'s a venue that needs the possibility of some warm/dry weather.

Some ideas (off the top of my head, I\'ll look a bit deeper next week);

Tie-in again with the "Simply Japanese" event (Aug 3 this year) at Beaulieu. We can have our own area, but they have a stupid rule that everyone has to arrive together. I recall be met up nearby and convoyed in the last time we did this event. Not a good location for those form the north though.

Duxford, tack onto a car show there, as we did ~4 years ago.

Heritage Motor Museum, Gaydon.

Another Airfield museum, maybe Midlands location to make access easier for those located more to the North?

As much as I like Brooklands I don\'t think enough cars would turn up.

Both dates are outside the normal car show season and would require considerable effort to attend and over recent years it\'s hard enough to get the numbers when the sun shines.

I would go with any of the above suggestions, can\'t think of any others

Haynes Car Museum or Coventry Museum of Transport?
