Title: Compression test results?
Post by: boosted on April 11, 2014, 09:57:56 AM
Just thinking out loud.....?

Would a carbon\'d up rotary with poor or no hot start would give low readings suggesting rebuild?

The kit cant differentiate between sticky seals and worn seals can it?

yes it would give low readings, the carbon tends to stick in the apex seal groves, in each case the seals would still need replacing

:whathesaid:

Running too rich isn\'t good for these engines, it\'s why a lot of RX8s are using Sohn Adapters and pre-mix to prevent engine oil deposits clagging things up.  Some have seen improvements in compression after Seafoam treatments but it\'s generally rebuild time.
