Title: ANtifreeze
Post by: Boot103 on April 04, 2014, 01:58:46 AM
Hi,

I need to change the coolant on my RX7

When I drained the coolant out It was red in color.

I have read that you shouldn\'t use red antifreeze as it will damage the seals.

Is this true ?

I was thinking of putting this back in but I\'m worried its the wrong stuff.

Any suggestions.

I remember i heard that as well so i used blue ....i wouldnt buy that ready mixed rip off! Get 5 l of diluted for 14.99 from any motor factors. Mix 50/50 af/water into seperate container. Use a funnel, pour in burp all pipes, run up with caps off filling. When you can feel its getting hot caps on run up to temp, switch off. leave to cool. repaet process. Mine was a sod to get all the air out. Took a few heat cycles.
