Title: Commander adjustments for MOT
Post by: tr8theshape on August 04, 2004, 12:39:20 PM
I have got the FD in for it\'s MOT tomorrow and am concerned about the emissions.

What needs to be changed on the Commander to make the car more MOT friendly?

Hopefully it will sail straight through :)

You might need to wind back the fuel a bit - there is a thread floating about on here somewhere - anyone?

Should you need to, go to settings, then  IGL/T, Fi.

On this screen you can alter the fuelling down across the range. This is the third column across marked inj adj: normal value is one.

Take a bit out as a time as necessary, eg :0.9 takes out 10% fuelling.

This screen also allows you to alter timing both trailing and leading, but you shouldn\'t need to do this.

The beauty of this is as soon as you are done and tested, turning the ignition off and on again resets the values as they were before, so you can\'t do permanent damage.

Whatever you do, don\'t drive the car without doing this first!

Another hint, running the air con seems to help, by placing a slight load on the engine and improving emissions somehow, worked with mine!
