Title: Financing older cars
Post by: johnf on February 19, 2014, 07:26:18 PM
I\'ve had no trouble in getting part finance for a car I fancy - that is until they
found out it\'s an 03 plate then thay say it\'s too old to finance.

Anyone else come accross this and found a company that will finance older cars?

I can just get 05 to qualify but the car I really fancy is 03

Thanks

John

banks with there specific car loans and finance don\'t usually go over 10 years, and finance can be a very fickle thing, all dependant on the company handling it.,  but yes very common problem

Some companies my broker uses will finance older cars but the rates are around 25% so quite expensive. Get yourself a credit card with an interest free period then when that period is near to expire transfer to an interest free transfer card. Failing that a bank loan is way cheaper and easy to sort out :)

I agree with what Dave is saying - you can get a Bank loan for anything, providing it\'s not illegal. There\'s some good deals about at the moment if your credit rating is good.

Interest free credit cards are also good if you manage them well and transfer about to keep the best deals. M&S are doing 15 months interest free at the moment with 2.9% fee - one if the best I\'ve seen.
