I felt it was time to do a write up on this company...
As many of you know i bought a Veilside Fortune Replica Kit from knightracer back in june/july which i was told would arrive in mid-september and this is where slight problems began...
A week before the kit was supposed to arrive i was told there was a delay for about 2 weeks due to the headlight plexiglass manufacturer changing so now they had to find a new one but would only take another 2 weeks to produce and be at my door... Fair enough i said.
2 Weeks later then i was told it would be another 3 weeks due to problems with the shipping company, its now hit the end of september so i thought these things happen as there were storms happening in that part of the world.
Inbetween this they are still receiving parts for other cars like their R35 GTR parts, silvias etc so flags began to flare up and i asked for answers, to quiten me up he threw in free bits like dampers, xenon kits etc to say sorry.
3 weeks pass and another delay, again with the shipping company so at this point i was slightly :censored::censored::censored::censored:ed and asked for the shipping companies container information/tracking info to which Albert (the owner of knight racer) didn\'t have one but all he had was the shipping companies name and a random freight number, i tried to use it but to no avail and gave up for now as family things at home began to take over and i didn\'t have the time to chase him for now...
Now mid October i\'ve pretty much had enough but am told its definitely on the ship now and will arrive latest the 10th of november, considering whats going on at home i just let it be and thought it\'ll fly by, November hits and he tells me the containers here just being held by customs and he\'ll go pick it up in the coming week, week passes not been released and then another passes still nothing, then finally on the 19th of November it arrives at KnightRacer and they agree to package and send it to me the next day at £100 extra, fed up at this point and just wanting the kit here i pay the delivery as by now i\'ve lost the slot with my bodyshop and continually telling them it\'ll be here soon they no longer want to touch my car or bother with the kit.
On inspection the kit looks fine but off it goes to the first bodyshop and problems spark the fitment is horrid (pictures to follow) and the bodyshop initially gives up and just asks for me to take the car, this is coming from a shop who have previously fitted the kit for the movie.
So lets begin with the rear quarter panels, can clearly see they dont fit the car and the door wont close, when i rang Albert and asked about this his words were \'its not my problem i told you the kit required a lot of work\'
- this is where my problem with this lies, the kit requires a lot of work would mean strengthening it in places and maybe faffing around with the fitment not cutting the entire thing up, remoulding it, if that was the case i would have just bought fibreglass and recreated it myself! but anyway pictures speak a thousand words:

This is the kit just placed on, the front wings are flimsy as :censored::censored::censored::censored: as well so need a lot of reinforcing.

So anyone purchasing anything from them stay well clear as once they have your money your basically :censored::censored::censored::censored:ed, I have considered court action and all that but in the end its just too long and not worth it the headache especially with things going on in my life.
Sadly I saw this sort of fit on a replica Veilside nose years ago with a guys MX-5, pig to fit and because of that would never buy replica for a road or show car.
However after my mate cut n shut the thing and he turned the car into a show winning car, in other words, eventually it was worth it.
Good warning and it would be interesting to know if they guaranteed the fit.
Hopefully now you can see what a stunning car its going to be, the agro to get this sorted will be worth it the day you drive down the road
How much body shop want to charg you to fit the kit and paint ? How much you have paid for the kit ? How much knight racer charge to fit the kit?
Looking at the site they do claim their kits fit,
Have you actually shown them the pictures you have posted ?
I understand the 5k is an awful lot of money but in theory it is still going to work out cheaper than the real kit that is 9k plus so hopefully you can still come out the right side.
I will say that we\'re you a full club member we could have looked at this on your behalf to at least find out the other side of the story and if they were prepared to do anything to help your situation.

The kit comes in at 7k, bodyshop will charge you about 8k minimum but i\'ve worked out a deal with them so its at 8k and i think knightracer do it as a package at 15k

How it stands now, yeah its still a few grand cheaper than the real thing, but just be warned i guess if you\'re going down their path as the support once your moneys in their pockets is zero
Looking good not mate... Dad (Mr Froggy) told me of your problems... That\'s real bad but still it\'s good that your on the way to making it work.

This part above is good to hear and thank you for the heads up here on MRC
i feel your hurt brother, seriously. But if this is your dream car then stick with it. Even genuine kits don`t fit perfectly. The fitment on my old veilside d1 kit was not great but looked ok after about 50hrs of graft. And that was free cus I did it and im no bodyshop expert.
My scoot bonnet tho was the WORST £600 I ever spent! I must`ve wasted a million hrs on that thing shavin bits off adding washers to the fenders, horrendous. I do feel sorry for the Italian guy who brought it off me tho.:Giggle
im sure your car will look badass when its done:burnout
