Day was awesome.......car flys......and spits flames.....
Ill be posting vids later.......jesus its quick......
Good stuff. As for carlsberg. Ergh its horrible stuff
Go pro vids arent very good...gutted...had the waterproof case on and rattle against cage....im importing me back up ebay special 1 to see if there any good.
Been so worried it would all end in tears but couldnt be happier. 4TH synchro is shot. A little smoke after firing after lunch. Massive learning curve I binned off the t1r s just spinning up. 888s transformed car.
I drove it hamfisted to be honest. Never drove a lotus 7 type car before Missed a few gears 2nd to 5th and lines were shocking. But the car didnt disapoint and every said if sounded awesome and could see the flames from the pit. The rotary heart was the best bit....most people asked what was in it and commented it would break......nope it drove me home.
Awesome news, hope to see (and hear ;)) this at track sometime next year maybe :Thumbs-up
Yeh the people don\'t know rotories. I once talked to a guy about putting one in a mini, NA type deal, because this guy had a hoooonnnndda motor in his mini and when I said I wanted to do it he went yeh it will blow up!! I just walked away, idiots
What sort of bracing do you have on the gear box?

Ive no idea to be honest:Giggle:mmmm
Trying to sort vids. Mrs Boosted got more patience with IT matters so she sorting. shame the sound is muted. I reckon i wont make a fool of myself in Class D special Gts....with slicks a fresh engine build and a bit more seat time.:wiggle
Get it braced up and you shouldn\'t suffer any failures. I wonder what you hp per tonne is?
Car should be 550 to 600 kg then me 76kg. and 250 bhp from a ported rx8 lump.....
Once i got the trailer sorted ive arranged to have it weighed on the works wieghbridge.
Take it too the local scrap yard and ask them too weigh it for you.
Well disappointed with vids....letting you tube do its sync and stuff.

Yep 2014 defo. New engine and box and fresh paint. so happy no nasty surprises. Im letting it down now. Need more seat time but think thats it for this year.....its take apart time and first job is stripping spare engine and getting to Haywards.

Box, don\'t use rx8 box and go for FC with mx5 int gear(sp) it\'s give you close ratio.
even better than mazda box, go for ford type9 with aftermarket close ratio gear and it\'ll traform the car better. I don\'t know what you do with the car and if that for fun day, stick it with normal mazda box..belive me, street porting are waste of time on any renny engine. knowing that and been there many moon ago.
Street ported renesis seem to be doing good stuff now.
done some research on mass and reckon 650 kg with cage. Got me thinking now wanna weigh it real soon see if i can get into 400 bhp per tonne territory.
A Bugatti veyron is only 250 hp per tonne, maybe even as low as 200per tonne
Bugatti Veyron is more like 500 bhp per tonne.

I think its about 350 at mo with some dodgy maths... rear end grip is what i researching now as i doubt my little Westory was ever designed to have 250 bhp.
It needs more rear end grip so been researching tyre widths, aero and such like. Most of the forums say aero on kitcars does not work but hey ho worth a try.
Not going to do combe next week its sold out but there is 1 more at Keevil next month so cant help myself i gotta do it. I can be up to speed allot sooner in the day than this first outing and I\'m going to make a alloy chequer plate heath robinson rear spoiler that i can bolt to cage with exhaust clamps:eek to see if a bit of rear downforce keeps it more stable when i try and feed the power in mid corner. From my 1 early vid on 888\'s when i get it right it fly\'s out the bends but wrong its opposite lock to lock to stop me spinning.
All in very good fun and a while back i made the decision not to repair my Fd as i wanted to save the cash for racing and whilst at the time gutted its come out for the greater good. Ive been buzzing all weekend!:burnout:burnout:burnout

all good fun.

Oh yeah. Oops. Dunno where I pulled that number from. Probably out my arse cos I was clearly talking :censored::censored::censored::censored:!! Hah
The aerial atom v8 has aero but that thing is more aimed at sprint events etc. I would focus on tyres and suspension and driving skill. There\'s a thread on other forum about this guys time attack Elise/exige thing, he\'s got more aero on there than a formula one car, non tested and it looks terrible, probably going to fall off in a slight gust of wind and he\'s missed the main thing when coming to drive fast, and that\'s learning how to drive faster with his abilities, not down force abikities
I\'m sure you won\'t be limited to rear tyre width as you essentially don\'t have a wheel arch to limit you:)
Depends what his race series regs say to be honest. Caterfield type stuff tends to have the same size tyres front to rear so going up a size or two on the rear may well make the difference. Cater ham developed an aero package for their 7 that was supposed to be worth seconds a lap but it was extensive. I\'ve seen them with wings mounted over the rear axle so maybe there\'s something there but definitely wider rear tyres would be a simple first point to start!
Should be fine with regs as special gt\'s is pretty open...more seat time and less lead foot. Looking at rear spacers to widen rear track and can go 225 so that should be it. Maybe just a little bgw.
