are the red top SR20DET\'s the ones without variable valve timing, and the black ones have it?
the redtop has variable valve timing (i think), if only it were red carbon fiber instead of normal carbon fiber.
my 200sx had a black top, and i would have thought the S14a had VVT, but im no mechanic.
the extra weight and positionb of the engine must seriously mess with the handling?
the redtop is 65 pounds ligther than the rotary... closer to the magic 50/50 split. 501hp @ 26psi.
is it really lighter?
doubt it, a SR20DET weighs about 150kg. A 13b doesn\'t weigh 180 Kilos does it? :)
Looking at the position of the block it\'s centre of gravity is about 10" higher and 12-16" forwards than a 13b\'s and past the front wheels = not good.
Can\'t see it adding anything to the car apart from understeer!
interesting conversion though.

the 13b is approx 70 kilos, i know as I put it in the back of my golf transporting it lol
