Title: Harnesses - changing clips to loops
Post by: m1tch on October 23, 2013, 07:04:12 PM
Hi all,

I am wanting to change the standard harness clip ends (using the  eyelids) to just using a loop at the end, is it a simple case of  removing the clip at the end? I will be attaching this to a kart which  don\'t have harnesses and I don\'t want to have to drill into the chassis  to fit eyelets.

The plan being to just attach the ends of the harness around the chassis  tubes at each side of the seat and also on the rear part of the chassis  (looking to just get a simple 3 point harness). I will be adding an  additional bar behind the kart seat for the harness to run over to make  sure that the angle is correct.

Are there certain harnesses that can easily be used with a loop or can all of the harnesses be attached by a loop?

Thanks in advance!

What does the MSA say?  (I know it\'s not being built for that, but it might give you an idea of what\'s being done?)

Looking at diagrams it seems that the hook part is a seperate part to the harness which I havn\'t ever seen done before? I will get myself a harness - just getting a 3 point one, if its been stiched on I could always just cut it off and seal the end.
