Title: Rx7 front seat belts
Post by: add heywood on September 26, 2013, 01:58:37 PM
Hi everyone,

Im looking to put the stock seat belts back in the rx7 (fd) as the previous owner had harnesses in there. Im just a bit stuck.

Got the belts in no problem, but where do the receivers (bit where the belts clips into) go...? Pretty sure I have the right ones as they have the wire for the fasten light on the dash.

Do the oem seats have the receivers attached to them, rather than them being anchored to the car? As mine has Brides in...

Cheers

underneath the seats, in the middle usually, little patch of carpet lifted up ;)

Is it under the square piece of carpet that pulls off...? They don\'t seem long enough to be mounted that far back...

Thought so mate. Bummer... What do people tend to do with aftermarket seats installed but with stock seatbelts...? Would I have to start drilling holes and using spreader plates on the trans tunnel?

I\'m not sure mate as most people with aftermarket seats use harnesses. I don\'t know if using the trans tunnel is a good idea in terms of strength. Best to see if anyone else has got round this issue. I can\'t remember what the receiver looks like where it bolts into the seat but maybe worth seeing if you can extend it in length to bolt into the floor.
