hello all, ive been in contact with a lad who has a 1996 rex, it has a kit on it, etc, in white, its been on ebay about a week ago.. he says it was rebuilt 20k ago, by the previous owner who took it to super 7, he rang them yesterday and because it was done cash they have no record of it?!? hes willing to get a compression done, its a little rough around the edges, seats have cracks, one arch has started to bubble, rear bumper and front bumper have a little crack in each.. 45000 miles on the chassis ?!? and 20k on a rebuild? how much would this be worth realisticly, as he wants to swap for my s2000 and ive got that for 4.5k

compression test first, then report back :)
TBH, from the description you\'ve given, it\'s unlikely to be worth much more than the above figure....
Found some more info on it:

TBH & IMO, you can get better for your moneys :)
Couple of real nice ones in Birmingham for just over 4k
Id have been and bought one if they werent silver and well in birmingham.
The gauges have been changed in Japan (standard clocks read to 180kmh, not 300, since cars are limited to 180 kmh in Japan). So mileage (at import) is more likely to be wrong than not.
The wiring visible in the engine bay shot on PH doesn\'t inspire confidence - and bad wiring is an engine-killing fault on FDs.
bottom line, I agree with fil.
