Title: numerous fd\'s / northeast
Post by: fd3spete on July 30, 2004, 03:13:48 PM
spotted a blue fd on the a19 near hartlepool area around a month ago, a black fd coming out of hartlepool around a fortnight ago, and black fd joining the a19 from the a689. anybody here?

next question, why does nobody i ever find wanna have any fun in their cars? surely if you wanted to tootle around at 50 on dual carriageways you would have a little more suited to the job?

to be honest mate i wasnt around the rx7 section much, didnt get to speak to many people at all. spent most of the weekend over with the sx guys with my brother, whose car won best s14a and best car of whole show. it just so happens to be my companies first demonstrator car (shameless plug):D

mine was the bland looking black one with no number plate on the front, all black lights and tinted windows. im awaiting delivery of my new wheels and a whole load of tuning parts and under bonnet goodies from the US, which typically didnt turn up in time, so my bonnet stayed firmly shut all weekend too. it might have also been to hide all of my half polished alloy :)

btw, did anybody else get real p1**@d off with the scooby guy and his bbq on sunday? came back to the car to find he\'d lit it right next my back bumper, and the whole car is covered in crap, not to mention the rear reflector actually started to melt! luckily my girlfriend was close by to stop me making a scene :reallymad although i kinda wish i had.

Really Si? Blimey. What kind of money has been spent on them? Just can\'t imagine a 180mph scoob (i am assuming Gurj\'s is more than capable of that, seeing as i\'ve been at 175 in a friends bimmer pushing out \'only\' 360bhp, and the FD will do 165 standard...) although i CAN imagine some of the them posting awesome 0-60/0-100 times, would be surreal to think of one going from, say, 80 to 160 as quick as the Purple One could!

But then what do i know, don\'t have a scoob OR an FD! Yet! :o

I believe County Durham is the only county in the UK where there are NO speed cameras at all. All the old bill drive around in Beemers and Mercs, but that\'s by-the-by.

Mart.

hummm it could be an interesting time matey

i got really bad time and i wasnt impressed - but since learnt that it could have been my launch that was causing it

if you do a run on standard tyres i would expect 12\'s very easily

if its your first time ( like mine was ) - i wouldnt expect 11\'s - that way if you do make an 11 run - its even better :)

but if your car is quick enough that should make up for the mistakes at the lights ( wheel spin , bad launch , missing the lights , not enough revs to get moving quick enough )

if you read the yank forum there are some good points on there - drop the tyre pressure to 15 psi ( DONT QUOTE ME ON THAT ) - take all the crap out the car - spare wheels etc - the say for every 100lbs taken out - 0.1 of the 1/4 mile

keep the temps down - wait with the bonnet open ( a cooler car runs quicker ) - dont do the run in the middle of summer ( hot air cannot carry asmuch fuel or summat like that )

there is all sorts of like things you can do - to get better runs ( and daft ones like sticking ice on the intercooler to cool it quicker )

to be honest gurj , i have never seen your car actaully moving - so i cant really comment !!! :) :)

You wouldn\'t have seen it move as by the time you get in your car me gone!!!!!

Just kidding, might make a vent right above the induction kit, not sure yet ongoing possibly??

because you your Non pop up lights - you have cant put the air scoop on the light hood

only thing you could do is make sure you have a nice cold air feed from under the car somewhere ??

is your induction kit sheilded in some way so that it cant draw warm air from the engine ?? - i know on a TII if you do the induction kit - you can make a cool air box around it - but then there is loads of space to do this - not to sure on a 3rd gen - but i doubt it

to be honest - im not the best person to speak to about rx7 - i dont know much about them !

no cold air feed on Gurjs but it\'ll give him sumin else to go fo r;) lol As you say thou if yer only having 1 run can i go against ya as i reckon the driver is still a key factor in getting a good run so i may have a chance (Si fishes for people dissing my driving skills :rollin pmsl) but it is all good mate & look forward to seeing you have a good play & inevitably getting a bit addicted :D
