Title: oil Pressure gauge
Post by: ds2000 on July 29, 2004, 10:53:11 PM
Hi guys,

What can I say, I picked my FD up today, huge :D all round - found a few niggly faults but nothing too bad so far :D

A quick Q about the oil pressure guage, what should this damn POS read?  Mine is up and down like a yoyo, at idle is 1/4 the way up and when booting the car it rises toward 7..... not pressing the panic button just yet as the car seems to run too well (touches wood)

So can someone recommend an After Market guage that fits in the OEM pod, or tell me what else to look out for.

Thanks

Dave

The standard oil pressure sensors are CRAP!!!!

Yes get yourself and aftermarket unit. Any 52mm gauge should do.

Thanks guys, I\'ll get a new one sorted, I\'ve been advised to get a Miata Thermostat switch as well.

Giving the car a good service/wash today so I\'ll get some pics up :) - have a slightly worrying \'hot\' smell after an hour of driving so I\'m going to clean all the oil drips/splats up too :)

Never been one for too many gauges, however find them essential on rx\'s!!;)
